131  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Craft My Pet Gallery (Send Out 9/24/10) on: October 04, 2010 02:40:01 PM
I just got back into town yesterday to a wonderful package from Tygir:

I love everything so much! She did a woodburning of my dog Patch and also embroidered her name and picture both of which are beautifully made. I just can't decide where to hang them...I need the perfect place for these. Here are close-ups:

She sent me this adorable wallet with strawberry print which she filled with teas I can't wait to try:

Annd she sent me some authentic Maine seashells eager to be turned into jewelry (they're in the first picture) and Lobster Dog Treats!! I would never have imagined these existed but I think they're so cool. We'll have to share these with my parents' dog and my boyfriend's dog too.

Tygir, this package was awesome--thank you again!!

Beatrice and Jenna--and their paintings--are beautiful! I love the texture in the Beatrice painting

134  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Craft my pet swap (sign up 8/7/10-8/27/10, send out 9/24/10) on: September 14, 2010 07:19:24 PM
I finally had a day off so I spent it napping and working on the large thing which is about half done now! Hope my partner likes it... Smiley

Annd on top of all the obvious reasons, this swap is awesome for forcing me to do things I haven't done in a while--I'm always afraid I'll forget how to draw and such if I go too long without doing it.
135  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Cruella and Maleficent on: August 27, 2010 10:16:15 PM
A couple quick acrylic paintings of Disney villians--I did these awhile ago while playing around with halloween costume ideas. I've been both now, and probably going with Captain Hook this year.

136  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / my scrap material elephant on: August 27, 2010 10:11:30 PM
I'm haven't been sewing long, but I did manage to make a dress and a quilt. So, I used up the blue from the dress and the black from the quilt on this little guy. I think he turned out pretty well for what little experience I have--which is probably dangerous since I already have hundreds of stuffed animals. I looove them! Anyway, I used the pattern from this post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=28412.msg237233#msg237233

137  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Recent jewelry...and my first post with pictures on: August 10, 2010 09:34:53 AM
Thank you! It is chainmaille, but I don't do it often so I don't remember what it is called. It's one where the rings create a little cage that you can put a bead into.
138  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Re: Clay Giraffe on: August 10, 2010 09:32:45 AM
Thank you everybody! And Sandra, he is about 10 inches tall and maybe 8 or so wide.

I'm really excited for this--I've painted pets for other people before but I can do other mediums as well. I've been on Craftster for a while, but just recently started posting some of my own stuff so I checked the rules and I'm pretty sure I can join--hopefully I'm right.
140  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / First quilt! on: August 10, 2010 08:33:13 AM
So I insisted on a sewing machine last Christmas even though the only thing I have ever sewn was an apron in 6th grade Home Ec.. Anyway, apron aside this is my first quilt AND my first sewing project. I know it's pretty simple, but I'm pretty excited that it wasn't so horrible that I had to scrap the whole thing (which is what I was expecting would happen).
