Great bag!! I used the fabric as a liner in a clutch. I love it too!! As do others, I see.  Wink

Hopefully, I can find some more too, because I absolutely adore it!

I'm so happy how these turned out. I had a goal to work on two purses this weekend and to make sure they came out good! I think these are some of the first ones I made that don't really have any major boo-boos!

This one had given me trouble before...the satin fabric threads ran where I top stitched it. This time, I just left out that step. And I think it turned out ok.

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! Cyndi, I hadn't heard about holding onto the threads as you start to sew...I'm gonna try that.

I don't think it's a tension issue, I just had my machine tuned up and adjusted and it seems fine w/ other fabrics. The thing that gets me about that satin, is when I sewed another piece of it using the same thread, needle, tension, everything, it didn't "run". But on the purse it did. I just don't get it!

Makes me want to give up. Seems like every one of my purses has an "issue".  Undecided

I was super excited about making this design I came up with, until I finished the bag and saw the result...see pics below....

you can see here once i turned the bag right side out you could see the thread pulling at some of the seams. how do i avoid this??

here you see where i topstitched the satin part of the bag and the needle caused the fabric to "run". next to it i placed an example of the same fabric i had sewn in the same exact way (same needle, same thread, same interfacing) the next day and it didn't run. HELP!!! Why did this happen???

it's driving me nuts!

Nice! I too wonder how it was sewing that satin fabric.

I've tried two clutches w/ that sateen fabric & the yarns slip out of some the seams. I think I even used a fusible webbing on the back of one of them.

What's the trick to keep the threads from unraveling & slipping out???
