801  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Is great aunt doll really that scary? on: August 28, 2009 12:37:22 PM
Help.  I made this (my last doll in years) sometime back.  She was the doll no one wanted.  She's made with one of those premade muslin dolls.  Okay, i admit, I tried sculpting the face without knowing what I was doing.  I sewed her clothes, and made her a spiffy chair to sit on.  What's wrong??  Why won't anyone love her?  Why does she give everyone the spooks?

Any suggestions out there.  Was I right and should have quit dollmaking?

803  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Catch a Falling Star.... Here's to you Dad!! on: August 27, 2009 10:29:26 AM
I started and completed my first weaving, and did the colcha embroidery on top a little after my father passed away.  The weaving was done on just a carboard frame I put together.  The fun part was drawing out the picture of the girl and embroidering it on top colcha style with yarn.   My dad always encouraged my crafting.  He was my motivator and muse.

It's my first time here.  I hope it works this way.  Sorry if I didn't.
