101  simple simon and Lil Bo Peep in Needlework: Completed Projects by momcuellar on: August 30, 2009 07:07:52 PM
I just finished these.   They were iron transfers from Aunt Martha.  The french knots on Lil Bo Peeps dress were just torture.  Now, I'm afraid to wash them; they were done on dishcloths from Walmart; because I know those french knots are not going to make it through the rinse cycle.  Maybe if I line them, I can make valances out of them.  Any suggestions on stabalizing the stitches?

102  Sock Monkey gone soapy in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by momcuellar on: August 29, 2009 02:37:23 PM
I got this pattern for sock monkey off the internet.  I didn't have enough stuffing for him, and had an extra bar of soap lying around.  Voila.  Oh but now he's kinda heavy and smells flowery sweet.  My daughter says his eyes seemed bugged out.  I tell her he's just unique.  Hope you all like him!

103  Is great aunt doll really that scary? in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by momcuellar on: August 28, 2009 12:37:22 PM
Help.  I made this (my last doll in years) sometime back.  She was the doll no one wanted.  She's made with one of those premade muslin dolls.  Okay, i admit, I tried sculpting the face without knowing what I was doing.  I sewed her clothes, and made her a spiffy chair to sit on.  What's wrong??  Why won't anyone love her?  Why does she give everyone the spooks?

Any suggestions out there.  Was I right and should have quit dollmaking?

104  Catch a Falling Star.... Here's to you Dad!! in Needlework: Completed Projects by momcuellar on: August 27, 2009 10:29:26 AM
I started and completed my first weaving, and did the colcha embroidery on top a little after my father passed away.  The weaving was done on just a carboard frame I put together.  The fun part was drawing out the picture of the girl and embroidering it on top colcha style with yarn.   My dad always encouraged my crafting.  He was my motivator and muse.

It's my first time here.  I hope it works this way.  Sorry if I didn't.
