1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / My Birthday Dress on: May 21, 2012 05:16:48 PM
I made a dress today. Well, I made it out of a size 32 shirt. Yes, a women's size 32. (I wear a 16 on top). I may make it a weee bit longer, if not I'll wear leggings. Cheesy here's the picture.

I think I will continue to shop in super plus size sections and make dresses/tunics with the shirts I find. Some of them are just too cute to pass.

I have about a 1/4 yard left of fabric...I may make doll dresses with it.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Big Girls in Crop Tops.... on: May 01, 2012 08:01:12 PM
I finally did it. I finally did a t-shirt recon that I saw on ThreadBanger. I usually don't do t-shirt recons because I am just not a big fan on how they look but then I saw the Part One of Corinne's (of threadbanger) Music Festival t-shirt series and I HAD to make it. if you have not seen it...here's the link...

For all those who have seen it...here are my results...I did it on a Elmo shirt that was on sale for $2 at my local Mejier....

Who says BBW's can't show just a little midriff... :3

Pssst....I didn't use a sewing machine...I hand stitched the arm bands and used this stuff called Stitch Witchery to do all my rough cut seams..

Thanks for reading. Muah! Wink
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / I made my prom dress...a BIG pink one (UPDATED w/ Details) on: June 03, 2011 06:55:28 PM
So I made my prom dress, I didn't realize that I had so much pink but people complimented me so I don't feel as bad being a big girl in such a bright Easter pink.... Well anyway, here you go:

I didn't actually make the shawl, I bought it earlier that day, I was surprised it matched!

Chiffon on charmeuse

Elastic is a big girl's best friend...

and here's the hand beading on the front and back of my left shoulder...

Well thank you for looking, you all have a blessed day...
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / So how do you overlay chiffon exactly? on: March 07, 2011 05:53:15 AM
So I have been doing all my research for prom and came up with my pattern for my dress that has a gathered bodice like this:

And my drawing:

...but....BUT...I only have the basic shell down, I need to figure out to overlay it with the gathered chiffon is their an easy technique I could follow to finish off the dress? Do I gather the overlaying fabric and sew around the base pieces shape in a ppillow-making style? Or is there an easier way?

Thanks In Adavance! Have a magical day!
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My New Favorite Shoulder Dusters on: March 06, 2011 02:04:39 PM
So I made these out of boredom (like most anything I create)...I have fell in love with them so much because of the darker colour palette:

To see how long they are:

Thank you so much for checking my post out! Have a magical day!

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Yes..I made an envelope clutch do to my boredom....so what?! on: March 04, 2011 04:16:48 AM

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / More Prom Advice Please: This Time Regarding That Bead Trim/Straps on: March 01, 2011 09:04:29 AM
So I know a lot of you have experience making your own prom dress and I have found my final dress and been drawing and designing. Now the actual creation of the dress is afoot! The one thing I am trying to get more knowledge of is all that beaded and crystallized trim and straps that I see on the dresses. I want a technique to help me out. This is what I am talking about:

Evenings By Allure-Elegant Chiffon One Shoulder Gown

A closer Look:

You see how that shoulder strap is? I want that! So any advice is greatly appreciated!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I need some prom advice on this couture dress... on: February 26, 2011 06:02:31 PM
Hi guys...

I am, like most of you, making my own dress for prom...my inspiration? Feast your eyes!!!

Terani Couture - Evening Dresses Style: 35160E

Omg! This is the description of the dress: Lovely, single shoulder silk masterpiece lightly detailed with silver stone work where top of bodice meets shoulder strap, and along waist line trim...yeeeeees!

So I was wondering if any of you you have any patterns, instructions, tutorials, or anything else that could help me in my mission for June 3rd 2011! Yaay!
