1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Celebrating World Cardmaking Day in my Blog on: October 09, 2009 09:11:08 AM
I was too busy making cards the rest of the weekend to post them... my grand total was 17 cards, covering 15 different challenge topics. I summed everything up in my blog and posted a complete list of challenges for anyone who's interested, but here is a photo of my finished card collection.

Beautiful job! I just bought a jigsaw puzzle in a glittery frame to alter... I'm going to pull the glitter off the front of the individual pieces but leave the frame as-is so I can put the pieces back into it at the end. I love glitter!

Here's my next challenge - the envelope of Goodness. Everyone who signed up was mailed an envelope of card-making bits and pieces to use... I made three cards with mine and I still have a bunch left to play with later.
Here's the envelope -

And here are the three cards I made with it so far. Two landscape cards and one general one.

They're beautiful for the clean-and-simple look!

Did you know that this weekend is World Cardmaking Day? I didn't...but I'm informed that it is, and one of my cardmaking groups is celebrating all weekend long with special Challenges (and rewards). I'm blogging the cards as I get them made and my first entry is done already...

The first challenge I attempted was to make an entirely red-on-red card... no little bits and pieces of other colours sneaking in! It's a lot harder than it sounds because a lot of patterned paper is actually more than one colour, but I made two. The first is a Happy New Year card playing off the theme of the Chinese New Year, and the second is a romantic 'I love you' card with a butterfly. Here they are...

Full details are in my blog (of course) and I'll be blogging and posting all the other cards I make over the weekend in this thread.

PS. I just realised I forgot to link it! Here's the blog entry with the information... http://kajikit.blogspot.com/2009/10/ncd-challenge-1-make-entirely-red-card.html

It's a lovely job for your first page - nicely laid out and nicely co-ordinated. The only thing I would have done differently would be to double-mat the photograph to make it a larger feature on the page... and to put some kind of journalling somewhere on the page. But it's a beautiful layout and I love the way you have everything nicely grounded and overlapped, not just floating around on the page.
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Full size Mexican blanket - How to turn Tacky into Kitchy chic. on: September 14, 2009 10:31:58 AM
Make your own curtains/window trim? It would look pretty awesome as a nice little window topper. Then you could do a matching table-runner or placemats or cushion/s depending on how much of the fabric you have.

What an adorable idea... I keep my recipes in a binder with plastic pockets but it would be such a cute idea to make a little scrapbook of my favourite go-tos. I might have to steal your idea...

That looks really cool! I always used to collage over my school planners... and when they said we weren't allowed to decorate the outside any more, I collaged the inside of the covers instead so at least I had something to look at!
