1  Re: City/Area Swap; Thanks to my Angel! in The Swap Gallery by lemairia on: January 04, 2006 06:23:26 PM
Well, the US Postal Service didn't do such a great job getting the package to me, but Madmatigan did a FANTASTIC job of putting it together.  Thanks so much to my angel!

Here are some photos of my loot from Regina, Saskatchewan:

The overview: hat, t-shirt, DVD of a Canuck comedy, CD of local/regional tunes, woven wheat ornament, brochures, maps, newspaper, CFL team air freshener... so marvelous.

A closer view (hope you can see the brochure in the far right corner for "Peg's Legs" market, featuring sausage and pierogies on the front cover

The Hat:  What exactly is a wheat pool, anyway?

The T-Shirt:   This cracks me up!  Nice work on the design!!

Thanks so much for being a swap angel.  It was really cool to get this package and learn about your city--we have to decide now when we want to visit...personally I'm thinking that the "Agribition" sounds like a mighty fine time.

2  Re: `*Bag & Bracelet Swap*` Gallery in The Swap Gallery by lemairia on: July 28, 2005 05:38:41 PM
I'm so excited to share these photos with you for the lovely and thoughtful items I received from Hanna the Vampire.

Here's my too-cool convertible "I Love..." messenger/backpack bag:

The little "patches" have velcro and can be switched out; they represent the different things I enjoy and love:  my Mini Cooper, cooking, my cats, yoga, and um, I can't remember what I else I said I loved--probably crafting!

Here's the lining:

There's a nice big roomy pocket on the inside to keep my stuff where it's supposed to be.

And here's the matching bracelet:

Tiny seed beed stretchy bracelet that says "I <3" in different colors.

How totally cool is that?!  Thanks so much Hanna!!!

3  Re: One Skein Wonder KAL Anyone? in Knitalongs by lemairia on: June 28, 2005 07:18:06 PM
I finished my first last week and have finally gotten pix--I've moved on to a second!

The front

The back (you can see that my t-shirt has a round cutout in the back--it's not some fancy knitting I did, or anything--isn't it nice that this shrug just covers the cutout!)

I did this in LB Wool-Ease "Blue Heather" and Patons Divine "Orangina"--the orange is slightly less day-glo than it appears in these photos.  I thinik I'll make the next size up for my second and lengthen the sleeves a bit; this one feels bunchy under the arm.

4  Purple Shrug in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lemairia on: June 07, 2005 06:21:20 PM
Okay, so this is my first posting of a completed project--this whole technology thing is pretty cool (but confusing for those of us who learned how to center text on a typewriter... )

I decided that I really wanted to start making shurgs, but couldn't find a pattern that seemed to fit the bll at my local fabric store.  So here's what I came up with:

The front view

The back view

The fabric is a very stretchy cotton/spandex sparkly plum purple.  Pattern still needs some tweaking, but tell me what you think.

Thanks!
