1  my first knitted item that is not a scarf :) in Knitting: Completed Projects by anacadabra on: February 25, 2005 11:19:43 AM
I'm a brand new knitter, with LIMITED skills( teaching myself as I go along)....have only made a scarf so far... and this purse: ) It's your basic garter stitch for the strap- but I wanted to get fancy for the purse and tried to make ribs.

 What do you think?

p.s. I've noticed most of the patterns I like are done with circular needles( most sweaters,hats,etc.).Could I make using straight needles-or would that look strange?

2  bag idea I ripped off of CC2C...shhhh! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by anacadabra on: January 29, 2005 07:31:56 AM
Remember the episode where a girl made this cute tote from an old sweater and attached bumblebees made of yarn to the front? Well, here's my version. Couldn't part with this rainbow sweater I've had since HS.. colors are cute but since it is wee tiny and already felting on its own- a bag seemed the way to go.no bees here because I didn't have any yellow/black yarn, but I like purple better anyway so it worked out.Cheesy What do you think?

3  scrap fabrics got lonely and turned into a purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by anacadabra on: January 19, 2005 03:35:06 PM
Okay, so here is another purse/clutch. It's denim trimmed with lace, velvet and a brocade type fabric. I tried to create a ruche effect but this is how it came out... kind of like a weird eighties party dress. Oh well! I'll keep practicing Roll Eyes
