1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / wootwoot. french knots and a sweet monogram. on: March 20, 2006 08:53:04 PM
i made this padded pouch for my best friend as a thank you gift for being awesome and for helping me out feeding me and giving me smokes till the first of the month. true love i tell you.

ANYWAY

the design was one i had saved long ago from the free dover design sampler.  i used all six strands so the design would really stand out from the background.  i also used bronze metallic thread as well (OH YEAH. ALL SIX STRANDS) which is a pain to work with, but i love the results.  the navy blue background for the 'T' is all french knots.  my fingers hurt so bad at times i wanted to cry, but i trudged on and finished it. she really loves it, so the pain was more than worth it.

sorry the pictures suck. i can't figure out how to adjust my new digital camera so that the flash doesn't completely wash the picture out or make it blurry since i can't control the shutter speed.

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / for lack of better title: 2 drawings on: February 22, 2006 06:03:33 PM
my major is fashion design, but having to take some other art classes has really given me an entirely new perspective on art. these are just two drawings i have completed for my color and design course i am in currently.  feel free to comment/criticize... i'm a big girl... i can handle it... hehe.

the pictures themselves could be better, but for the life of me i couldn't get the flash to give the proper results (stupid digital camera won't let me adjust the shutter speed). so if the picture is blurry it was entirely user error on my part while taking the pictures.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / the lobster claw/velour/muslin/necktie adventure on: February 12, 2006 03:28:33 PM
these are for my portfolio to transfer to CCAC, as modeled by one of my bestest friends Serena.

any/all feedback is appreciated. i also apologize beforehand if the pictures are too massive.

one-shoulder muslin/silk necktie top
this was mainly an experiment in draping and a way for me to try and find endless uses for neckties.
working with recycled neckties is what i love most.

lobster claw skirt
i made this skirt a long time ago (i won't say how long, lest i date myself), but about a year ago i revamped it adding the tiered velour back (from a thrifted skirt i bought in high school) and t-shirt waistband. i like it much better now.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / easy-peasy pillowcase smocktop on: October 09, 2005 05:38:13 PM
it's a super simple hippie-esque smocktop-like tank top i made this summer. whew, what a mouthful.
finally found a picture.
basic, but it still looks cute.
