Hey there Craftsters!

I was wondering if anyone was interested in starting a Harry Potter Scarf Knitalong, either SS/CS or POA/GOF style. I know Iko had one going, but the last post was sometime in August of 2004. (That kind of made me sad). Just post or PM me if your interested. I'd like to get this started so we could have scarves by the time GOF comes out in November. Thanks!

if you look at the new gof site... www.gobletoffire.co m... it shows the gang in their scarves (which makes me soooooo happy!) and there is no patch.

i knitted a poa/gof style scarf in gryffindor colors for the 6th book release... (i didn't wear robes because i live in az, plus the knitting took up a good chunk of my time!) i modified the atypically.knit pattern into 1x1 ribbing. (plus i knit on size 15s!!! i am a tight knitter)

many people wondered if i bought the scarf... then i told them the answer by pulling out my knitting! (i was making a go-go garter scarf from snb for a friend)
i even had a girl try to commission me to make her a scarf... but i couldn't. (i barely finished my own... i was weaving in my numerous ends and putting on fringe that day at work!)

the best part about the scarf is that it doubles as a late season football scarf for arizona state university (where i go...)!!!!! so a colorblock scarf would be a bit more harry potterish, but at the same time... total sun devil pride...

Man... I stop at the same three-five places when I'm in the mood to thrift.

I look generaly for books and scarves and old records of musicals or movie soundtracks and sometimes kitchy homeware.

I'm also looking for Girl Scout patches. So I can make a quilt for camp.


I need to check out places around ASU... so I can start going there when I finally move in less than two weeks!!!!

I am trying this out... even though it is my first time with cables...

What size needles did you guys use? I'm making an cabled iPod cozy for my sister for practice... (on 10 1/2's) and it seems pretty open. And I'm a tight knitter.

Plus... how do you line this bad boy?

I seriously live right down the street from you beppycat. Well, the street being Alma School, and me being at Guadalupe. Yay for living on the edge of four different cities/towns!

ooo! an even better way to waste a dollar at the dollar store... buying straws!!!

this is a good way to keep my hands busy until i finally teach myself to knit!

i have a brother machine too... and i <3 it!!!

modify your shirts... make a skirt... quilt... there are endless possibilities even with a small machine!
