1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Crochet/needle felting question on: August 22, 2009 05:11:43 PM
First time on here so feel free to direct me to somewhere else if I'm asking this in the wrong place.

I just recently learned wet/needle felting. I had done some felting years ago by knitting and crocheting hats and then felting them in the washer. I would love to be able to needle felt ON my felted crochet projects but I've noticed that some stitches are still visible after the hats/shoes have been felted. Is that the case with all crocheted/knitted felted projects or will some yarns felt to create a smoother surface that I could needle felt on?

Also, I crocheted some adorable play strawberries for my niece and they are stuffed with natural fill from Jo-Ann's but I'd love to felt them and then stuff them... still figuring out how to go about that or maybe I should just stuff them with extra wool yarn and felt it all the way through.... any suggestions?

Thanks!

That's awesome! I would love to make one for my son. So there's an egg in the rattle center but what about the handle section? what's in the middle of that?
