11  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: 17 metres of sequins later.... RUBY SLIPPERS! on: August 30, 2009 04:26:21 AM
These are fabulous! I tried making myself a pair out of glitter a few years back but these look so much more professional, I just wouldn't have the patience. Great job!!
12  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / London Map Handbag on: August 27, 2009 10:49:00 AM
I recently went on a trip down to London for the weekend and wanted something special to wear. After realising since I don't have sewing machine a whole outfit was a little over ambitious, I decided to make myself a special little bag.

I was looking through some old stuff and came up with the idea of cute little clutch made out of a map of London. The finished product was bigger than I originally wanted but I used the entire map and decided the bigger it is, the more stuff I can fit into it (which thankfully meant I could fit my brolly in because it threw it down when we were there).

I cut the map into strips and covered in sticky back plastic (so it's weatherproof and drinkproof), and then simply weaved the pieces together. The bag closes with Velcro and is fully lined with red satin, which I thought made a great contrast. I even made a little badge for the front for a 'designer' touch. When I took it out, I actually caught someone trying to look at this to see who made it  Cheesy

I love this. It's so artsy and colourful. The pattern on the bottom is just genius.

Wow! I love this. The buttons and embroidery are a really nice touch. It definitely looks like a professional, expensive coat.  Cheesy

I love the Paris University recon. The others are pretty cool too, especially the high collars.  Cheesy
