21  Gothic/Psychobilly Goddess dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho Sue on: September 13, 2010 04:26:55 AM

Ya know, sometimes the dress has to be ALL ABOUT THE FABRIC. This is a 2 year old Burda pattern dress, I picked it because the straps give it a retro feel. But it's all about the red glitter and spiders, no?  Cheesy

There's nothing I love more than goth prints and retro style. Grin

Construction was a breeze. I did a full bust adjustment and added hip room in the back skirt. For more pics visit my blog (see the sig below). Also is it me or is "plus size" so over as a fashion term. i kinda wanna barf when i hear it. let's re-invent this term please!  Tongue

I ADORE COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS, LOVIN'.....ETC!!!

22  Lemon and Lime Summer dress for curvy cuteness in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho Sue on: September 08, 2010 04:07:21 AM

This is a discontinued Simplicity "project runway" pattern 3541. http://www.simplicity.com/p-1912-plus-size-dresses.aspx It had a skirt with a round, V, and halter bodice option. This is the halter option, but.....muhaha..you know me i never follow the directions. I took the neck ties and converted them to shoulder straps by sewing them onto the back bodice.

If you are a big chested girl, you know exactly why halter dresses are a pain in the azz; they require a strapless bra and those just are not supportive enough for bigger tatas. Am I right sistas?? If I left this as a halter, I would NEVER wear it.

If you wanna hear more about the changes I made to the pattern, see my sig below for the posting on my blog!

Psssst...if you like it, please hit the 'this rocks' button! i would love to see a plus size item be featured on craftster  Wink

24  I made and entire cherry wardrobe! in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by Psycho Sue on: June 27, 2010 05:29:34 PM
I don't wear pants so I excluded them  Tongue
This is a mix and match set of two skirts (40s repro pattern), one blouse, one dress, and one jacket. (last 3 are a moern Simplity pattern with a few adaptions to add retro-ness)

It of course is very retro in a loud way cuz...ahem...that's me.  Shocked

onto the fun:

this is skirt one with a basic white top ( i think i might just make red blouse later)

here is blouse one with skirt two:

here is dress 1 with jacket 1 (remember the dress...this is my solution to it looking like a hospital gown)

this is skirt one with jacket 1 and a basic white undershirt

and also you can wear the jacket with the red skirt if you wish.

I love this whole idea and I am planning another wardobe in monster green and black. But after the hubster gets this shirt that i am making...can u believe he picked all the fabric out? LOL it's going to be cute. I will see if i can get him to take photos for me afterwards!  Wink

in the mean time what do you think of the wardrobe? I think it also could use a basic red tshirt.

25  RAWKABILLY Dress in cherreeez! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho Sue on: June 07, 2010 02:36:01 PM
Hey hep kats and ghouls! This is Simplicity 2453 done in cotton print. Blue gingham with cherries and tiny pink hearts!

Alterations:
>Added 10" to hips and 5" to waist

What is really nice is that there is NO FACING! The sleeves are narrow hemmed, arm holes done in bias tape, and the neck is finished with a bias cut of the cotton. SWEEEEEEt! Kiss

I am so ready to rock in my frock babies!

and my pug Miss Mai Tai is modeling her bad-self

ok here is a question...be honesy honey...does it look like a hospital gown without a belt? My hubby says so...maybe its the print

I used pink for the twist here:

26  Re: My various Psychobilly T recons ~evil shirts rock~ in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Psycho Sue on: June 07, 2010 02:05:12 PM
Very much inspired by the shirts in this thread! I did this a little differently. I cut up the sides and around the sleeves, but kept the shoulder seams and neck in place. Then princessed the hell out of it (using a bodice pattern from another project I'd done). The arm holes are just edged with more of the same leopard knit ($4/yd!). I loved this shirt before, but now, well...!

HOLY SMOKES THAT'S HOT!!!! AND I HAVE THAT FABRIC TOOO!!! GREAT JOB!

28  Psychobilly dress loud enough to wake the living! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho Sue on: May 27, 2010 03:44:25 AM
Cheesy It's a Simplicity project runway pattern I have posted here before. This time I used knit. I made the bodice a few sizes smaller to adjust for the stretch of the knit, and made sure to use interfacing to keep the neckline stable.  Cheesy

Pattern Adjustments:
-re-drafted neckline
-re-drafted sleeves
-added 1/2 to waist length

Extras:
Metal studs around neckline
The bow is clip on- so I can change it up
I hemmed the bottom with stretch lace hem-tape, I was not about to do a circle hem in KNIT; I have enough punishment waitin for me in the afterlife, thank YOOO!  Cheesy

I would love to hear what my Craftster Gals think!

29  I love how this retro dress looks in the sun! in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by Psycho Sue on: May 05, 2010 05:29:35 PM
It's a modified Simplicity 2615!  Shocked

CHANGES: I ruched the sleeves with elastic instead of gathers, and I did not make the sash. I added waist darts in the front and the back to create a beautiful hourglass shape. Yes I actually tailored this to plus size! LOL But made a faux-belt in the front with lace. It really slims the waist. It is badonk a donk friendly too  Cheesy It has hidden side pockets too! No zipper!

I used this gorgeous polyester green, blue, brown, yellow retro atomic print. It is so gorgeous on me, BUT alas I found out that I cannot stand to wear polyester. It makes me crazy.  Undecided

It has a really sweet 30s feel dontcha think! But since I won't wear it again, I WOULD SWAP THIS FOR: cute fabric or a few cool jewelry items, a crocheted snood, or hair pins ( of the rockabily type )  JUST PM  ME ON HERE, we might be able to come to an arrangement. I love Craftsters so I would love to share. This is about a size 26/28. All seams are finished with an overlock stitch. Bust is like 50-52 inches and waist 47 ish and hips are over 60"

30  My Vintage and Rock n roll inspired latest jewelry! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Psycho Sue on: April 30, 2010 04:24:07 AM
I made this cute earrings and bracelet set from those buttons! Isn't it darling?

I also made these earring holders that work great for hook earrings. It hangs on the wall and has like a little gap between the wall and the back so the earrings can sit flat. I store all my earring on them now and rarely loose one anymore since they always stay together! I used those yarn-cross stitch plastic thingies. Then I re-enforce them to make them stiffer.

I also made one in a vegas theme and a leopard theme!

Here is a sweater clip from shrinky dinks! I got these awesome color pencils that are so super bright now!
