I am a bridesmaid wearing yellow, and I wanted to make a faroese shawl (a May wedding may be crisp), so I ordered some lighter yellowish yarn -- and the color is not quite what I expected.  I would really appreciate it if you could tell me if it goes well together.

PS  If you do have a substitute suggestion, basically I need either fingering or laceweight and I don't want acrylic or mohair, but my main concern is color.

So quick to knit for such a wee thing.

Because I didn't check my gauge and I was on vacation and therefore unwilling to plan, this was 2x the width I should have done for a circular vest with sleeves.  So instead (once I thread in the ends, anyway), cocoon shrug! Ta-dah! Would that all my mess ups could still be wearable.

Gift for happy friend in handpainted yarn I got off Ebay. Single-ply merino lace, my first time going so very fine. The seafoam pattern is so easy and fun, and the final results lovely.

Would have made it longer, but I ran out of yarn.

Yes, I am a knitter and a dweeb. I actually noted these instances as I read these tomes over the last 3-4 days. I'm going to be rereading the first 2 novels soon, so perhaps I'll find that there is at least one knitting ref in every one of her HP books so far!

Hello all,

I wanted to let you know that I'm working on a clarification of the pattern, which will be sent (free, of course) to all those who've already purchased the pattern.  I'm going to make a whole other one, and take pictures along the way, making clarifications and prettifying revisions--the revision will be like a tutorial.  Unfortunately I'm going on a trip, too, so this will take me 2-3 weeks (eek!).

The shrug is a gift. The tank was supposed to be too, but I made it too small for the recipient.  I must redo it...

Hi all, I haven't posted in ages, but I was very busy setting up my new website.  I made up this pattern to sell for a nominal fee.  Do you like it? It was really fun to figure out the diamond -- but I must have started over about a dozen times!  The lace is beautiful -- I'm gonna make a winter scarf out of it soon!
