1  Re: Fiber Friday, July 16, 2010 in Spinning: Completed Projects by lady_sepulchre on: July 17, 2010 12:09:19 AM
I havent posted in awhile because Ive been rather ill, but I decided to show a sampling of what I have been working on the past month or so.

the first is a midnight blue merino with multi colored tussah silk and purple sparkle spun in. Its my effort at an art yarn, I call it Midnight Magic.

The second is an 80/20 merino silk blend in greens white and yellow that I am calling The Huntsman.

And last is a blend of purples and silvery greys that I call Moon Goddess. It is a 2 ply Merino/Silk/Angelina blend.

I love the color the of the English Garden! and the yarn the five year old spun....well....it looks like what i spin lol!

this is my first fiber friday post, I keep forgetting to post on fridays, I have been pretty ill as of late, but I will post my two latest yarns. I am a beginner, and am going to try to start plying next.

this is what my friend decided to call "tahitian sunset" . this name turned out better than my original name of it, which was flaming ball of badassness.  100% corriedale with yellow sparkles thrown in. 112 yards. My man has already taken it and knit it up into mittens. The pink in it knit into what looks like zebra stripes, very cool.

this is what i am currently finishing up. I am calling it Bombay. It is a mishmash of mostly teal (although it looks bluish in the pic) and red orange Corriedale with a lot of other little fiber pieces thrown in, including sparkles.

I cannot for the life of me get good pictures, so if you have better ones PirateColey, feel free to post them!

I got an amazing package, AND she send some items for my daughter!

this is eggbert. he is my favorite, i think, although its hard to tell because i love everything. My weenie dog also loves eggbert, but he ran when i got the camera. they snuggle. Eggbert makes a fantastic pillow, AND hes the most adorable plushie ever!

here is the pile of stuff minus the really awesome owl tissue paper stuff was wrapped in. there is a really cool bookmark, an apron which was something i wanted really bad, a cute candle, the print in the middle is to die for and is perfect for my tastes, a little birdie candle, the owl embroidered wall hanging with deliciously creepy eyes which i have failed to capture in the picture, and other extras.

this is the stuff that was sent for Shirley, my daughter. She loves all of it, especially the necklace and the journal, although the mirror with the beautiful S on the back is amazing too.

and a better picture of the apron. I have already been wearing it, even to make microwave dinners and ramen noodles. hehe. I am in love with it! thanks Nicole, I hope my package is as perfect for you as this one was for me!

4  Re: Spring Cleaning 2010: Fill a FLAT RATE Box; GALLERY send by 5/22 in The Swap Gallery by lady_sepulchre on: May 29, 2010 04:38:09 AM
I recieved from loudxmouse the other day and was trying to get good photos to post, but alas, the ones I have will have to do. the quality camera is MIA.

I got super spoiled!

awesome roving and fiber! there is also a brownish gold that i LOVE that I somehow didnt get a picture of. she also sent me a drop spindle and Ive been experimenting! I hope to post something in the next fiber friday thread!

then there were these great yarns. My boyfriend promptly stole the peaches and cream ones and started knitting something with them, but i threatened his life if he touched the other two. theyre amazingly soft! the double pointed knitting needles are from england and look to be vintage. awesome!

These were some of the great extras I got in the box. I adore the little felt cupcakes!

Crochet patterns I didnt already have! going to have to try them out!
There were also some really nice velvet fabric pieces in the box in red and green, but my camera refused to take a decent picture of them.
Thank you loudxmouse!

I got my package from leslieyam this morning, and just got done taking pictures. I am seriously amazed!! <3<3<3

Okay, so first there was this FANTASTIC purse, in the PERFECT colors.

my picture isnt the best, and there is a shadow on the side, but i took the pic in the sun to show the brilliance of the purple and green and the detail of the AMAZING venus fly trap ( I am assuming that is what it is, due to the adorable little unsuspecting fly)

hehe, its so cute

the green on the interior of the purse is beautiful, and there are some of the other goodies in there.
AND then....

These fantastically great skull magnets, a mr and mrs! I am so in love with them! and the poly clay necklace with action shot, I swear my neck isnt that scary. the photo has a combination of badly highlighting my surgery scars and shadow. My boyfriend keeps trying to steal the magnets.

She definitely picked up on my love of ravens! this is a beautifully painted raven wall hanging with a crescent moon hanging from it. I am making the boyfriend put up a nail to hang it on near my crafting area as we speak. The crescent moon also goes along with celtic history, which I am also very into. there were also these adorable little boxes that the magnets came in along with two perfect purple nail colors and some extra purple supplies that I didnt post the pictures for. I seriously got spoiled and I LOVE everything! Amazing Job Leslie!~

7  Sparkly Blue Varigated Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by lady_sepulchre on: April 22, 2010 09:29:26 PM
This is just a scarf I crocheted out of leftover yarn from another project. It is a basic 3DC Ch3 3DC stitch and is done with two strands of yarn held together. One is a size 3 cotton acrylic varigated( I forgot the brand) and the other is  Vanna in sapphire.

the girl in the last photo modeling it for me is my daughter Shirley.

Okay, so here is my update on my squares. I have more pictures in my picture hosting but rather than flood you with them I just chose one. These are my newest squares including the few I have started to join. Again, when it is done it will be an afghan for my daughter, who will be 12 in september.

Haha, when I was previewing this I noticed my weiner dog got his nose in the picture in the bottom left. hes a mommas boy and always has to be around when I am doing something.

10  White Queen Inspired Loaded Charm Bracelet- Pic chubby in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by lady_sepulchre on: March 27, 2010 01:30:50 AM
So this is my companion bracelet to my Red Queen Bracelet. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=342469.msg3976272#msg3976272
Again, the pictures are fuzzy and I apologize for that. This one is a little bit less pretentious than the Red Queen piece, as the White Queen seems to be a little more confident in her personal presence. Though its not at cluttered, this braceletended up being the more expensive materialswise as it is filled with freshwater pearls and swarovski crystals in clear and blue. I went with the crystals and pearls after seeing Anne Hathaway's costuming in the new movie. The blue I added because although the White Queen is supposed to be the more benevolent one, there is something undeniably Icy about her charachter as a whole. In the Red bracelet my homage to the hatter was a tiny pair of scissors, in this bracelet it is a golden plume charm. There is also a charm depicting the top of a scepter and one with a court jester. both of these look as if they were drawn in a similar style to the illustrations of the original Alice books. There is a filigree silver charm with a bird in the middle, and a genuine gold drop charm with a moonstone orb in the center. Again I put a crown on this bracelet, but with the Red Queen's the jewel was a faceted red glass bead, on this it is a freshwater pearl. Different Crowns for Different Queens. My favorite charm on this is a large blue mirrored glass charm with facets around the edges. In one of the pictures you can see it reflecting part of a tattoo that is on my chest. This of course represents "Through the Looking Glass". There are a lot of other tiny details on this that I wont list, mostly glass beads and bone. Thanks for looking!
