4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / my first pottery class on: March 12, 2010 09:53:05 PM
So I took a beginning pottery offered through the leisure program at my university. This was my first time working with the wheel. These are some of the pieces that I got back. Next wednesday is when I pick up my last batch of pieces that I've glazed. I think I'll try to take another class if my schedule permits it because it's pretty relaxing. I'm not sure who I'm going to give some of the pieces to...I think in my mind my bunny Norman gets half of everything I make. haha

as you can see, it's a learning process for me. Some parts on my piece got burned...I think I used the wrong glaze..

generally round shape = success! I'll take my small victories when I can. haha

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Darby's Diagonal Stitch Blanket on: August 20, 2009 10:01:35 AM
I REALLY like this. Yours more than the one in the tutorial. The one in the tut has too many holes for my liking...yours is nice and smooth (for lack of a better word)

Thanks! You're very sweet. I think it was because I used an H(5.00mm) hook for Vanna's Choice yarn on the blanket.

This is really beautiful.  I love the colors and the stitch.  Thanks for sharing.  I hope the boy liked it.

Yes he did because he knows I worked on it for months! Plus it was his gift for getting into med school. Smiley

Recently finished Darby's Diagonal Stitch Blanket. Pattern can be found here http://www.crochetcabana.com/stitches/diag-box-st.htm It fits a queen sized bed. Definitely one of the larger projects I have worked on and finished. This was a gift for my boyfriend Smiley
