You can use an artificial leather, like a vegan leather, or a plastic leather.

Maybe using some sort of foam padding in between layers would make a nice touch, as well as snap button.

Go to the bookstore and check out the latest craft magazines. Everything from jewelry, to sewing or papercrafts. I find inspiration there...

Yeah, I buy a lot of books online. You can conceive really creative ideas from them...
