As another Canadian (one who has to plug in her truck so it will even start in the morning) it was -31C when I left for work this morning (that's -23F). It got up to a balmy -8F during the day though, not too much wind and quite nice. These are the days I need a scarf though. -10C (15F) I don't even wear a jacket, just a hoodie, and there will be kids at school in shorts.
Oh and I'm totally a coffee drinker over a tea drinker, but I do love white tea. Yummy!
And I wouldn't wish for a second to be as far north as you are! ;P I am so much a heat seeker that I try to stay away from the cold areas as much as possible!
At least neither of us is in Sarnia.
I may mock people who wimp out at the cold, but I'm even more wimpy about the heat. I can handle about 82F and anything above that makes me cranky. Plus you can always put more clothes on, you can't be any more naked than naked, unless you start removing your skin, which is icky.
In swap news, I'm feeling like making a cowl, if my partner wants one.
82?!?! Try 117 during the summer here, sweetheart. Oh geez. It's not been cold here at all. Seriously: high of 78F, that is really warm for December even here. On my son's first birthday, November 24 2007, it snowed a foot in the middle of the night and then was all melted by noon.
I did live in Idaho a couple winters for school, though, and got made fun of for my hoodie at 58F, but I got used to it. I did their -17F pretty OK. This year, however, it gets down to 72 in my house and I am freezing! Seriously, I have to put on my slippers and bathrobe and scarf... I think having kids has thrown off my personal temperature control!
