Hm, evilpixie was supposed to get her hoop on Saturday but according to her tracking number, it was undeliverable as addressed! OH NOES! The next thing it said was "forwarded..." so I hope it's not being "forwarded" back to me! I hope she gets it soon! I am sad Sad

yeah, shouldn't there be a call out for a co-organizer? I would offer but I'm a little swamped right now. Though by the time the sign ups end I might be free...

Still gathering thoughts while I work on my angel package for the stocking swap. WOW! My partner is very curious. Lots of questions! That's cool, though, I like to talk about myself  Grin I have been eliminating thoughts, though, getting my ideas down to what she might want rather than what I might could make. We'll see what I come up with...

So Miss Barbara is not my partner after. She saw that I didn't want anything crocheted (because why would I want something I can make myself?) and contacted our organizer and got it switched. What a sweet lady! Now I get IrishDitz! WEEEEE!

I was looking forward to trying my hand at a Rapunzel Scarf for Barb, but maybe some other time.

I got Barb! We have a history. She might not remember, but I do!

HELLO!

is it also allowed to exchange mail/msn etc? I like to get to know the other person so it would be great...

AHHH so nervous... sorry girls, it's my first swap here and I'm so happy to participate Cheesy
Most partners I've had have been great at PMing/communicating. I love PMs! (hee hee hee!) I have never IMed with anyone, but I know others have. A large chunk of the fun of swapping is getting to know other people in a non-intimidating climate.

Wait, you guys were finding patterns? I don't know if I've ever used a pattern... Well, I guess that one time on the pillowcases... But was that really embroidery? I usually just find a picture I like, take it into photoshop of my tablet, and trace it onto my fabric. Then again I also usually trace it on the back so I don't have to worry about trying to remove the "pattern"... We already covered that, didn't we?

As another Canadian (one who has to plug in her truck so it will even start in the morning) it was -31C when I left for work this morning (that's -23F).  It got up to a balmy -8F during the day though, not too much wind and quite nice.  These are the days I need a scarf though.  -10C (15F) I don't even wear a jacket, just a hoodie, and there will be kids at school in shorts.   Grin

Oh and I'm totally a coffee drinker over a tea drinker, but I do love white tea.  Yummy!

And I wouldn't wish for a second to be as far north as you are! ;P I am so much a heat seeker that I try to stay away from the cold areas as much as possible!

At least neither of us is in Sarnia.  Smiley

I may mock people who wimp out at the cold, but I'm even more wimpy about the heat.  I can handle about 82F and anything above that makes me cranky.  Plus you can always put more clothes on, you can't be any more naked than naked, unless you start removing your skin, which is icky.

In swap news, I'm feeling like making a cowl, if my partner wants one.

82?!?! Try 117 during the summer here, sweetheart. Oh geez. It's not been cold here at all. Seriously: high of 78F, that is really warm for December even here. On my son's first birthday, November 24 2007, it snowed a foot in the middle of the night and then was all melted by noon.

I did live in Idaho a couple winters for school, though, and got made fun of for my hoodie at 58F, but I got used to it. I did their -17F pretty OK. This year, however, it gets down to 72 in my house and I am freezing! Seriously, I have to put on my slippers and bathrobe and scarf... I think having kids has thrown off my personal temperature control!
