Yeah, oddly enough I'm not very into Ravelry
but I do follow the Phat Fiber Blog
. I've been hearing about the boxes for some time but only recently, about 2 months ago, right after the November box selling, did I find out where to go to get one. Thank you Belladune
! I wanted to try last month but didn't get to it so I made sure I was up by 9 yesterday (my kids are late sleepers, be jealous) to try to get one and HOLY CRAP! Gone in seconds, literally, seconds! I was lucky I got one in the afternoon run. I set the timer for 7 minutes before sale time while my G was playing Zelda (awesome!) and when I got one I was expecting to scream but I think I was in shock so when I finished paying I was walked back over and sat on the couch. He didn't even know I had gotten one until he asked and I shrieked out a YES! Then I had to explain it to him again. then randomly through the rest of the night I would blurt out "I got a box." Obviously this was my first box. He thought it was funny. I'm totally planning on taking pictures and posting in this thread when I get them, by the way. Yes, I have no life.
Tips for people who want boxes in the future:
-Sign up now for the email! You can't get in without an email. Well, I think you can technically but you can't get the COUPONS without. And the email has all the info about when and when.
-Follow the blog. There are like 3 or 4 full sized giveaways each week. I already won! I got 4 oz of some Alpaca/Angora blends that were super amazing to spin up.Megancrafts
: Why does it have to be pre-dyed? When I was learning I found Sheep Shed Studios
to be quite a great source of roving. Cheap but good quality. And if you just get the white then you can learn to dye too. Hurray food coloring, Wilton's, Kool-aid and eater-egg dye kits!
