Ask and ye shall receive! I asked for inspiration, here it came.
I decided to organize all of my sewing patterns the other day and finally decided to go through this random ANCIENT box my mom gave me. HOLY CRAP. I am going to inundate you guys with pictures of my vintage iron-on-transfer embroidery patterns and you guys are going to tell me what to stitch up this month and how because, really, I'm so excited about it I don't know what to do. And this totally fits here because I'm requesting help with my entry for this month's SAL theme.
Let's start with the envelopes. Apparently my great aunt and Great G-ma were subscribed to some kind of monthly needlework club. So cool. These are so old, they don't even have zip codes
Can you guys see the patterns on these? There are ducks and puppies and alphabets and Mexican stuff... Holy cow.
"Less than 2 cents a week!" it says!
I want this 50 State Floral Panel they are advertising!
These are what I'm really excited about, though I didn't get the one that says "BAKE" in there:
There are also a bunch of pillow case designs and stuff but I'm not really feeling those right now. What do you guys think? Are you excited for me? I think I want to do the kitties and Sun Bonnet Sues as dishtowel sets for my mom and her cousin Suzie, who is May's daughter, but would that classify for the hoopla-along? I will probably do that eventually anyway. Maybe I should start with something easier and lighter for this thread and just do a small hoop with some flowery stuff? Or use the big patterns--like the flowers/basket in the second photo--and applique with them?
