361  Re: Monthly Odd Holidays - April in The Swap Gallery by jexxican on: April 05, 2010 01:38:00 PM
I received! And man, I was spoiled! Check out my goodies:

3 bookmarks for D.E.A.R. Day

Some handspun yarn for Hairball Awareness. (Never would have thought of that!)...

and some frog magnets and beanbags for Frog Month!

She even sent the metal stone print container. My 3 year old might steal it, though, he's kind of growing attached to it!

Thanks so much Belladune! Everything is great. Did you receive yet?!

362  Re: Fiber Friday- March 26, 2010 in Spinning: Completed Projects by jexxican on: March 26, 2010 09:14:15 AM
I've never posted on a fiber board before! I have wanted to learn to spin so bad but my husband didn't take the hint when I told him for Christmas I wanted a spinning wheel (he got me diamond earrings, stupid man) and when I told him he should get me a spindle for Vday if he loved me, he didn't do that either (maybe he doesn't love me?). So I made one, and it's not that great, but it worked. I got some fiber from Hobby Lobby, I think for felting, but I spun it. Here's what I've got so far:

Here's about 17 yards of purple and orange, not plies jsut spun together from fiber form.

And my first one, I just did a little of each color and drafted (is that the right word?) them together.

Oh, nikshaf, I LOVE that spring in your step. It came out so good, I would totally buy it.

I didn't even think about your surgery, Murbeck. SORRY! haha! But...

I received today!

For Earth Day Murbeck sent me a tree painting on a canvas tile. I've never seen these canvas tiles before but I will have to look into them because I think they are a great idea. I love the tree! I need to clean it, though, I think some of the peanuts stuck to it.

For bubble week, she crocheted me a bubble holding necklace cozy! Love it! Gonna wear it more often than she thinks, I'm sure. I can totally see this going with me... everywhere!

For Something On A Stick Day she sent me these poppies that are really clothes pin on sticks so I can have whatever I want on a stick! I might just paint the pot and use it for a picture holder, though.

In other news, I thought of a project last night that would have been great for Murbeck for Beer Day but alas, I sent Monday. Maybe I'll have to sneak it in next time I get partnered with her, since I'm sure it will happen, at least I hope so. I had so much fun crafting for her and being her partner anyway. Thanks for a great swap, Murbeck, and thank you Llisaredd for organizing these!

Yup, I got impatient too. I watched the next video on the Art of Megan and this is what I came up with:

Oh MY! I have the original Lady Cottington's pressed fairy book, but I didn't know there was a book of "Letters" too! That's going on my list!

Here is a better picture of the paper/rose bowl I made Proxima:

I KNEW it was gonna bust! Though it's not as bad as I thought it would be.
PROXIMA: What might work better than glue to fix it: take some strips of paper and soak them in water then use them like tape on the bowl. That should help. (I made the bowl with the cut out innards of the book so it wasn't a total waste and thrashing of a book, even though it was a terrible book, for all of you book lovers out there.) Lady Frog, that was what you were thinking looked like soap on my teaser.

I'm glad you liked it all!

Silly PO... I am calling them tomorrow most definitely. Anger! *** EDIT Monday, 10AM: I just called the USPS and they said Since they cannot track over seas packages, often the only thing that will show up on the Track and Confirm website is the acceptance scan. Other than that we just have to keep guessing when it will show up. AH! So Proxima, it may very will be in customs in your country right now, but we won't know until you get it. Talk about upping my anxiety! For no reason! Why must they do this to me?

Also... Anger! at Swap-bot. I signed up for that site but blah, yuck, I would much rather swap with yous guys.

Also... I RECEIVED!! Check out this awesome loot I got from annalisa! She totally went to an antique store to find some of these goodies, and she even went on Etsy to get me something knit! How sweet is that?

First off, all the stuff in this picture was in the little orange bag. There are silhouette magnets, paper hearts (haven't been heart attacked in YEARS!), an antique key, a "Post Card" stamp (that I'm seriously gonna use on my homemade fabric postcards), a felt & stitched mustache pin, screw on earrings, and a bunch of paper cut outs.

Blue arm warmers, a scented rice pillow, and the lovely scarflette that she bought me on Etsy. LOVE KNITS!

And finally: some AIW tattoos, a butterfly pincushion, a lovely lace necklace (that I'm tempted to do a Loukr-like photo shoot with but will resist the urge: wish I had it when I did my similar pregnancy pictures though!), a lovely switch plate that we can't find screw holes on, an antique picture from Erie PA and a V-day postcard that is dated 1909 and has a one cent stamp on it. Yes, Annalisa, I will be your Valentine!

Shanks hunny bunny!

*** EDIT: I just called the USPS and they said

369  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 12 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by jexxican on: February 04, 2010 12:48:29 PM

I crocheted it out. I wanted to make it longer but that's all I had. It's ok. I might line/wear it over a tank top or it might just be for the bedroom.

Each piece of this altered puzzle was wrapped in there! Nifty!

The rest of the goods, sans candy which is put away in the bowl in my closet. We're only allowed 1 piece/day (still have some Halloween candy even!)

There were in the middle along with the soap. I think they are so pretty! I love embroidery!

My princess with her new crown!

Thanks TattooedCrafter!
