1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Peace Turtle Pin on: December 27, 2004 04:40:51 PM
I guess this is considered jewelry...
This is a Peace Turtle pin, you can use any cool material.  I used tye-dye and cordoroy.  The back i put a thicker canvas to keep it sturdy.  However, this one i have not yet sewed a pin back onto. I kept it all together with fabric glue and i like the fraying look.   Smiley
this was my first one. for others, i have sewed the feet/eyes before attaching a back piece to keep it all neat.
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Alice In Wonderland Pic I colored on: December 27, 2004 04:09:15 PM
I colored this alice in wonderland pic myself while it was on the transfer paper then ironed it on.  It actually turned out pretty  cool! You cant see it well, but i put glitter on it.  The picture is on a purse that i ended up not using because it was too stretchy of material.  I'll have to line it someday...  Wink

the lines on the material showed thru a bit but i like it  Smiley

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My First Patchwork Bag/Purse~ on: December 26, 2004 10:06:04 PM
Greetings, I am new!  Grin This site rocks!
This was the first patchwork purse I ever made and has now aquired some wear but has held up awesome.  I used scrap vintage material my mum got from her friend from the 50's, 60's, 70's and some of it is so beautiful. thats why it sucks that the pics arent great  cuz all i have rite now is my camcorder, no digi)   Sad

Front of bag

front of bag with flap open

back of bag, flap open

lined it with a thick, tweed-like material.  as you can see, the satin strap has started to fray  Sad

i wish the camera captured the shiny green satin, but it is a brilliant lime green!!! i did the embrodery with my mums old kenmore (the cams)

cute kitty button

ah, the machine-done buttonhole that has come apart  Huh it seems to me the button hole doesn't have a big enough gap in the middle so when i cut it, it cuts the thread.  any suggestions??

well, thats my first bag. pretty simple, nothing fancy. just thought i'd share  Cheesy
