1  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Restful Hummingbirds on: August 19, 2009 12:11:06 PM
Moving on from scrap cloth, I've decided to try my hand at our pillowcases. I chose the hummingbird pattern for the sole reason that they are very pretty. Obviously, hummingbirds have nothing to do with restfulness or sleep. I don't think I've ever seen one be still in my life. Smiley

While I did the purple birdie first, I'm much happier with the stitching on the blue bird. In any case, I think they make a lovely pair.
2  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / My Little Pony - With a Horn on Her Head on: August 16, 2009 04:55:53 PM
I'm just starting out in the wild world of embroidery, mainly teaching myself how to put needle and thread through cloth. This is my first attempt with a sublime stitching pattern. It's a present for my little sister (read: 22 years old but still loves unicorns) and it is as colorful as she is. I need to get it framed, but I'm quite happy with how it turned out. It kind of looks like the unicorn is farting a tail of green fire, but maybe that's just me.

Oh and that is my lame attempt at a heart on her butt. Smiley
