@Alexus It looks great! I also love the red stripiness.

And I concur with everything everyone's said about Lapoli's stash!

Not sure if it's worth posting a pic since it looks terribly boring, but this is what I'm working on this week:

A grey hat!  Cheesy

2  The Purllace Hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by mandraco on: June 28, 2011 09:15:36 PM
So if you read WIP Wednesday, you'll note that this is the last project I posted.

Unfortunately, no pictures of it on my head because I had to take them myself and let's just say that my favourite pic from the shoot included most of my face and the hat being cut off.

It's a pretty basic hat that I designed myself because I like to improvise.

If there are any beginner hat knitters out there who want it, I'll be happy to post the pattern. It's super-easy since all the increases are yarn overs and there are no decreases because it's top-down and in the round... which may make it a little tricky, now that I think about it.

@sarahj Progress is progress on the purple sweater. Are the socks that circle socks pattern that I've seen around Ravelry?

As for me, let's see. Last week's scarf was received well. I think everyone had forgotten that I actually knew how to knit. I forgot to tell my friend about the leaves though, so that'll be a secret which I'll tell her about if I ever see her wearing it. (Not that likely now that she lives in another state.)

This week I'm working on this hat:

It's my own design, for many reasons that I won't bore you with at this moment. I'll probably try Tephra's suggestions from last week once I get to the ribbed brim.

And brella's Totoro mittens (Ravelry link) for my sister, but I don't have a pic of that. It's my first colourwork project in the round and let's just say I've got a few tension issues. Lol.

Thursday again. (That's what happens when you live in Australia!) I think I'm just going to call it "This is on my needles Thursday".

I did start a pair of yoga socks, then stuffed up the cable so put them aside. (And I was only going to put ONE cable in them. Lol.)

Then I realised it's one of my best friends' birthday this weekend, so I'm making a scarf for her.

Couldn't get a better picture of it. It's always the wrong time of day or the clouds are out. Plus it's a scarf and I just can't seem to take pictures from far away, so there's no way I could get the whole thing in one pic.

It's Saroyan (Ravelry link). I decided on one leaf per year of her life. I'm hoping to block it tonight.

Oh, and I did finish last week's scarf sometime last week. It still hasn't made its way to a new home, though.

@Tephra - I swear 1x1 ribbing is the worst pattern in the world. I mean stockinette and garter are pretty boring, too, but at least you don't have to keep switching every single stitch. Unless I'm missing something more experienced knitters do that makes it easier...

My first WIP Wednesday and it's actually Thursday! ...because I am rarely on Craftster and I'm not really a knitter.

Unfortunately, I don't actually have a good picture.

It's off this pattern and is a charity knit.

6  French-Knitted T-Shirt Scarf in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mandraco on: August 21, 2009 06:31:15 AM
I'm still not sure whether this is the most disgusting or the most awesome scarf I've ever made. (It's not that hard to be either since I've only made three before in my life.)

Sorry the pics are awful. One thing I am not is a photographer.

Here's the detail: It's basically just strips of t-shirt knotted then knitted together.

And if anyone does decide that it is the most awesome scarf, I can post a tute.

7  Harry Potter journals from Calendars in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mandraco on: August 15, 2009 02:58:34 AM
Behold my new journals:

I was making a photo journal (which is another story) and was gluing the pages together when I realised that I already have a glued together stack of paper that I'll never use- my 2006 Harry Potter desk calendar. Then figured that since I was going to be making books out of that, why not use my 2005 Harry Potter wall calendar for the covers?

Front covers: The first two are covered with pages from the wall calendar. The third blue one is just a watercoloured piece of sketch paper with an image of Draco Malfoy from a battered old poster I had. Oh, and the first one also has a book label that I had lying around because the cover still looked a little bare.

Back covers

And I keep calling them journals, but really I'm going to use them to write stories in, because that's what I do. Cheesy
