1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My Wedding Dress on: October 12, 2010 09:28:23 AM
Okay, I'm way behind in posting this! I am a fashion design student, and I got engaged 3 years ago while in a fashion design class. So for my big huge final project, I made my wedding gown! It was so fun. It was about 3 months of constant work, but it was worth it. It is inspired by a dress I tried on at David's Bridal, and could not afford, so I made it myself. Here are some photos my photographer took at the wedding, I didn't really get a chance to take close-up, technical photos of the dress yet.

I made this half-apron a few weeks ago.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Alice Dress on: March 14, 2010 07:10:09 PM
Okay...I just saw Alice in Wonderland, and I'm dying to make the red dress she wears as Um in the Queen's court. Does anyone know of any patterns similar to it? I would rather modify a pattern than go it alone. Here's a link to a pic of the dress:

Thanks so Much!
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby Shower! on: March 01, 2010 04:08:11 AM
I need some ideas for gifts for a baby shower I'm going to in March. I do not know the mother very well, it's my husbands family. She's having a baby girl, Alexis. I sew, but I'm not very good with knitting or crochet. I have a lot of soft flannel I could use. I'm planning of making a stuffed animal, but other than that I'm not sure what to make? I don't have any kids, so I'm not sure what would be the most useful to the new mommy-to-be!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Victorian Renovation on: August 14, 2009 09:19:31 AM
My husband and I are getting ready to move into a huge victorian-style home. It has already been renovated a little, but we want to finish it out. It is a large house with gorgeous, hand-carved trim that is natural oak. It is full of awful wallpaper that is all coming down. It has a lot of old-time details we love, but our style is a lot more modern. We really want to keep the integrity of the home while still putting in a little bit of our style. Any ideas for combining the two styles?
