2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / CONGRATS ON JOINING FRATERNITY? on: March 02, 2009 08:57:36 AM
So the boyfriend is in the middle of "hell week", the last week of the 2 month greek life pledging process at our college, and since he has been running around like a chicken with its head cut off for the last few months trying to get all the tasks done he needs, he's been exhausted all the time. I don't know much about the process but this week is supposed to be just miserable, then on friday, they are finished and become members of the fraternity.
I want to make him something to say congratulations for sticking with it and finishing pledging and i can't seem to think of anything cool, other than that my friend and I are going to try to fill his car with black & gold balloons (the frat's colors) on the last night.

thoughts:

-their mascot is a bull
-colors are gold and black
-motto is "all for one, one for all"

I have no idea what to do , any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!!  Smiley

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Vote for Pedro on: January 21, 2005 05:56:11 PM
I saw someone famous...can't think who right at the mo, on some talk show...either Regis and Kelly or The Daily Show(normally the only ones I watch, so that narrows it down) and they were wearing a VOTE FOR PEDRO t shirt! I love your shirt! That movie rocks! But where did I see that girl that made the bracelets and took the Glam shots before?
it was on the daily show, i remember watching and going "aaaaaaagh! I made that shirt! " lol, oh, and you can get the iron-on patterns from the Napoleon Dynamite website, that's where I got my picture that says: gimme your tots and the vote for pedro one :-)

after seeing how cool this looked, I ran up to my little brother's closet looking for army men, but alas, found only a barrel 'o' monkeys, so i took one of those and hot-glued his little hand onto an old string of pearls I had, I've gotten tons of questions like :how the heck did you think of that?   Wink  thanks for the inspiration!!

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: When Crafting Gets You Free Stuff on: December 29, 2004 02:30:54 PM
Hahaha! That is pretty funny. My stepmum would end up doing that. She can't stand the fact that I haven't bought a new shirt from an actual store (I go to thrift stores!) that she wants to buy me some new clothes. She even got her mother to get into the action.

Cheers

same here, my mom says: why don't you buy NEW clothes? and purposely shrinks and or bleaches y thrift ones because she thinks they're ugly  Undecided
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: corks turned pretty hotplate on: December 29, 2004 02:05:35 PM
Shocked FUN IDEA! I think I'll do a few of those, my mom works at a wine distributor and we have way too many corks laying around...
