1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / P a r i s [Altered book in progress] AHOY image Whale!! on: March 02, 2011 07:01:29 AM
This is my first attempt at a project of this type, it's for art school & I have to hand it in TOMORROW!!

We went to Paris back in January so to be faire I have had enough time to get this finished but the longer it took, the less inspired I felt and other projects have kept me so busy I've hardly had time to breath let alone smoke (I'm trying desperately to quit).

I go to Paris often, to see my man's extended family and well just because I'm in love with the city... However, since going with the class I haven't had a chance to return and the book has been laying idle on my table for over a month, unfinished...

I have a long night ahead of me  Undecided

Please let me know what you think!!! I need all the encouragement I can get!!

 Grin

Sorry for any blurring. My scanner doesn't have much time left !!

Front cover

"The tribulations of an English girl in Paris".

"Where the personality and nationality of people emerges gradually".

"Follow the Pink Rabbit".

The fold out map on the left was just too damn complicated to scan  Embarrassed

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Teh 2010 Sketchbook (before I stock it away foreeeever! muhahaha *cough* on: February 09, 2011 02:16:39 PM
Cheesy
This be some of last years random sketches and biro breakouts.
I'm sorry if this is image heavy ... How many images counts as heavy?
The scanner died after doing this lot so gawd knows when I'll be able to put up the rest...
Should I put up the rest?
C&C A L W A Y S welcome !

Baaaah I'm going to miss 2010, it was an Epic year to say the least...
I can't believe its February already and I'm going to be 22 this year !

Bring on ze pictures !!

It's pixalated 'cause it's muh name ^^, the writing was done with coffee.
Breakfast without cartoons wouldn't be Breakfst at all!
"the strategy of happiness"

This was done on the train to Paris (A very long and boring ride to see my long distance boyfriend).
I don't know how I'd live without music.
bit o paint and black biro
"Everything comes to pass, space erases the sound."

I need to make this ... I just love it.
If you don't get it, I don't think I can explain.
Paint & Pen
"Defoliating Daisies"

Another train doodle, I used to get so hungry !!

Hmm, this is just a copy of a print I saw on a tea towel once,
it's the phrase "Baking is gay!!"
and it totally reminds me of home economics classes back in the UK and the boy's distaste for such a class ! I'd like to do this as a painting for my kitchen when I get my hand on some nice powder blue paint !!

I remember doing this at my nan's back in England and her wanting to put it up on the fridge next to the postman pat scribble of a drawing I did when I was five. If there's one person I love above all others. It's my Nan, I should rip this out and frame it or something for her.
Biro love.
"Ribbon."

This was copied off a t-shirt, just messing with charcoal.
I like Irony ^^

I am a HUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuge fan of Sailor Jerry.
Homeward bound is an expression that means allot to me seeing as I am constantly travelling alas not a sailor.
The boat was inspired by a vintage birthday card.
"Homeward bound"

I hope I didn't bore you !!

4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Fake Frenchie crafty dabbler! on: August 30, 2010 01:55:36 PM
Bonsoir!!

Okay so I've had my account for just over a year now... But continued lurking!!!
Only recently I've actually had the time to become more active...

I'm originally from the UK but I've been living in France for the past oooh... almost 8 years!

I'm currently living in Lyon for summer work but will be moving back to Brest (where I've spent the past 3 years) in a matter of days to move in with my boyfriend (who is from Paris).

*inner squeal of joy*

I did a BEP métiers de la mode et industries connexes
(technical diploma of the studies of fashion and connected industriess)
at school followed by a baccalauréat artisanat et metiers de l'art
(baccalaureat of hand crafts and studies of art).
I also attempted one year in BTS industry but ending up quitting in a rather spectacular fashion after an upsetting trip to the Armorlux factory.

However (yes this is my life story right here) my amazing boyfriend convinced me to have a go at the entry exams for Beaux arts earlier this year. Never in a million years did I think I'd get the chance to go but 2010 has been my lucky year so far

*touches every available piece of wood to hand*
and that's where I'm heading in September.

Anyway back on track. I would be very excited to partake in some colissimo swaps (french bulky mail boxes) and/or just general banter about crafting...

I'm a dabbler. I'll give anything a go!
