Number of Angels needed: 1

Hi all,

I am looking for an angel for Rockingbearranch in the Mad Science Swap.

Here is the basic theme and requirements for the swap:

"Mad Doctors!  Mad Scientists!  Creatures, Mutations, Robot Monsters, Strange Experiments, Things Man Was Not Meant to Know! Wha ha ha ha ha!!!

What does Mad Science mean to you? Is it a laboratory filled with bubbling beakers and a crazed Doctor toiling over questionably ethical experiments? Or maybe it is the Steampunk inventor working on his steam powered robot army. Or is it all about creating contraptions to take over the tri-state area and thwart fedora wearing platypuses?

Practice your maniacal laughter and join the Mad Scientist 2015 swap to let loose your own inner mad scientist.

You will need to craft either one large item or one medium item AND one small item"

If you need more info just click on the links at the top of this post or feel free to PM me any questions.

Thanks if you can help...I'd like to find someone soon!

4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / The Plague Doctor on: September 12, 2015 08:51:16 PM
Now that my partner has received in the Vintage Halloween swap I can share here too. This is my little plague doctor. I used Creative Paperclay, paint, and varnish. This was my first time using Creative Paperclay and I really liked it.

And the other side:

He is about 7 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide at the base. I had a lot of fun making him and plan on making more. Smiley

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Stuff a Small Box for Halloween Round 3 on: August 23, 2015 03:42:17 PM

It's been a while since I've done this swap since I was on a swapping hiatus. But it is about that time to start planning...

So if any of these things apply to you:

- You're swapping budget is a bit tight and you don't want to spend too much in shipping.
- You're looking for an easy first swap to get your feet wet.
- Heck your just looking for a swap that lets in first time swappers!
- You love Halloween.
- You love surprises.
- You love the challenge of seeing how much stuff you can get away with sticking into those priority mail boxes.
- You are in college/a parent/working a lot/just fracking busy!
- Did I mention loving Halloween?

This swap would be for you!

The main challenge is seeing just how much stuff you can get in a $5.95 flat rate priority box. At least one item needs to be crafted, and at least 50% of the items need to be Halloween related. Past that...anything goes! I want this to be an easy, no stress sort of swap. Sound good?

If you are not sure what a small flat rate box check out the USPS site here: https://store.usps.com/store/browse/uspsProductDetailMultiSkuDropDown.jsp?categoryNav=false&navAction=jump&navCount=43&productId=P_SMALL_FRB&categoryId=subcatMSS_B_Free

With enough interest I'll make sign ups in early September and give about a month to craft/stuff before send out.

Round 2 Gallery:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=414838.0

Oh and sorry...but it is USA participants only since part of the point of the swap is seeing how much you can send for basically 6 bucks.

So who's ready for round 3?

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Wicked Women Altered Tin Swap on: August 02, 2015 01:49:44 PM

Since well behaved women rarely make history lets have a swap that celebrates those bad girls we love so much! You could go historical (Lizzie Borden, Elizabeth Bathory, Typhoid Mary), literary (wicked stepmothers, wicked witches, villians), or those women who just buck authority and don't play by the "rules". However you want to define "wicked" is up to you.

The swap would be to craft one altered tin giving everyone time to focus on making a really nice item.

If their is enough interest I'd be happy to organize. Smiley
9  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hi! Returning after a couple year hiatus on: June 29, 2015 10:30:33 AM
Hi there!

I figured I should reintroduce myself since apparently I haven't been on the site since 2012. What?!? Well I was finishing up my bachelors degree and the last couple years I've barely had time to myself let alone do any crafting. Plus I was an art major...so if it didn't have a grade attached it pretty much didn't get made. I graduated (Finally!) on June 13th and have been taking some time off and actually getting a chance to craft for the fun of it again.

I used to love hanging out on Craftster, checking out everyone else's work and participating in swaps. I hope to get a chance to do that again at least a little bit. Smiley

Not sure if anyone remembers me but if you do say hi and if you don't say hi anyways. Smiley

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / 2013 Art Journal-along-CLOSED on: January 05, 2013 10:59:44 PM

Welcome to the 2013 Art Journal-along! One of my goals for the new year is to work on my art journal everyday...even if it is as little as 5 minutes....I'd love it if I have some company on this journey. Smiley

This is a craft-along to help inspire, encourage, and help you create your own art journal. Collage, draw, paint, altered art...all forms of art journals are welcome to join.

You don't have to wait for a page to be done in order to post. In progress photos are welcome too. What to share a technique that you liked? Post that too! The idea is to cheer each other on as much as possible, share ideas, keep each other motivated, and have fun.

To help keep things organized I'm going to post news, links, and a link to your finished journal on page 1. Update your journal thread as you complete pages so that at the end of the year we can see all the journals. Though feel free to make any in progress posts in the main thread too.
