11  Re: WWP Round 38 Mabon Harvest Swap Gallery (Signups 8-12 to 8-20, SO 9-15) in The Swap Gallery by spookygrrrly on: September 18, 2012 03:10:31 PM
Yesterday I received from my swap partner Rosie1981. She put together a wonderful little package and here is what she sent:

Here is a shot of the whole package:

Included is: a fall table runner/altar cloth, a bag of smudging herbs (which smells awesome), a ton of scrapbook papers and ephemera, and two pages that can be included into my BOS. I love that the table runner is sort of meandering path rather than being the normal rectangle and it will fit very nicely on my mantle, which is where I set up a family altar at the holidays. The papers and ephemera were sent because I'm working on creating an art journal style BOS...so all of those will come in very handy!

Now for the close up shots:

Close ups of the BOS pages.

The back of the table runner has this wonderful raven. I love that it is reversible!

These just kill me. They are the teeniest little bottles of glitter I've ever seen. I can't wait to use them. Smiley

Thank you Rosie1981 for my wonderful package!

Good luck on your house buying Edel! I know how stressful home hunting is, so sending good thoughts your way.

House guests are gone and kids are off to school again so I can finally get back to crafting!! Smiley

About to run some errands which include picking up supplies for this craft swap. I have a few good ideas and now I just have to put them together.

Though I have to be a proud Mama and show off the little ones:

That's my daughter and my fiance's son who are just starting 2nd and 3rd grade. Smiley

14  Stuff a Small Flat Rate Box for Halloween Rnd 2 in New Swap Theme Ideas by spookygrrrly on: September 04, 2012 11:54:00 AM

Last year this was my first swap that I ever organized. Since I've already had a couple people PM me to see if I was doing the swap again this year....the answer is YES!

So if any of these things apply to you:

- You're swapping budget is a bit tight and you don't want to spend too much in shipping.
- You're looking for an easy first swap to get your feet wet.
- Heck your just looking for a swap that lets in first time swappers!
- You love Halloween.
- You love surprises.
- You love the challenge of seeing how much stuff you can get away with sticking into those priority mail boxes.
- You are in college/a parent/working a lot/just fracking busy!
- Did I mention loving Halloween?

This swap would be for you!

The main challenge is seeing just how much stuff you can get in a $5.35 flat rate priority box. At least one item needs to be crafted, and at least 50% of the items need to be Halloween related. Past that...anything goes! I want this to be an easy, no stress sort of swap. Sound good?

If you are not sure what a small flat rate box check out the USPS site here: https://store.usps.com/store/browse/uspsProductDetailMultiSkuDropDown.jsp?categoryNav=false&navAction=jump&navCount=43&productId=P_SMALL_FRB&categoryId=subcatMSS_B_Free

With enough interest I'll make sign ups in about a week and give about a month to craft/stuff before send out.

Last years gallery:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=391918.0

Oh and sorry...but it is USA participants only since part of the point of the swap is seeing how much you can send for basically 5 bucks.

So who's ready for round 2?

Crisis averted! Thanks for letting me know their should be one more. I hadn't gotten rid of the tissue paper yet and found the little guy:

The nesting doll is only about an inch tall. So those spider webs are super teeny. You have such a steady hand QueenNinjaMonkey.

I received on Monday from the wonderful QueenNinjaMonkey. Sorry it took so long for me to post pictures. I'm in my last week of summer classes and trying to wrap up my final project. (blech)

These tiny zombies totally made my day though:

I absolutely love the details on the back too:

On the back the big one has an underwater scene and the small one has a graveyard. So adorably spooky!

Absolutely adorable little nesting dolls. Cheesy  I had actually saved a bigger set of these that QueenNinjaMonkey made over a year ago to my faves on my craftster profile. I don't think I ever even noticed who made them, but I thought that they were adorably sweet. So now I have a tiny set of my own. Thanks again so much!! Smiley

17  Lawn of the Dead - altered altoid tin in Completed Projects by spookygrrrly on: August 03, 2012 04:29:04 PM
Now that my partner has finally received I can make a post about my latest creation. This little guy:

I made him for the One Tiny Zombie swap. When I came across the little lawn gnome at Archie McPhee's I just knew that he needed to be zombified:

Front:

Back:

I have to say that working with the moss was a whole lot of fun. My fiance was sad to see him go. He even tried to convince me to keep him and pretend that he got "lost" in the mail....and he doesn't even like zombies or horror movies! Actually I kind of want to do a series of these now....he was that fun to make.

Though the most important part is that he arrived to his new home safely and my swap partner loves him Smiley

18  Franken-wallet: duct tape wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by spookygrrrly on: July 11, 2012 01:24:09 PM
I know this isn't anything new, but I've never gotten around to making a wallet (or anything else for that matter) out of duct tape. My wallet finally died so I figured it was a good time to give it a try:

Inside:

One the left is three card pockets. One the right is one large pocket and a change pouch.

This was a lot of fun to make, now my kiddo and fiancee want wallets too. Smiley
