Ok, so I like rabbits. I can't help myself. They lend themselves so easily to modelling. I made these ones whilst thinking about cake toppers for a christening cake. I make so many nice things from icing but you have to keep them in a sealed box away from humidity. With something like this, it can sit in a keepsake box or a display unit, and not need any fuss.
With the baby theme in mind, I wanted to go for a stitched look. So after rabbiting
around in my cake tools, I used the quilting wheel to make the stitching.
I coloured the paste with acrylics before I started modelling. I think it gives a better finish than painting it. I also made a blue one. I did his eyes differently. I used a seed bead as well as some small ovals of white "clay". He reminds me of a muppet, I can just hear him talking in a voice similar to Fozzy or Kermit hmmm.... maybe I should take a break for a while if the rabbits are talking to me???LOL; I prefer just the straight seed beads in this case.
