31  truly the most awesomest bike seat cover ever! in Crochet: Completed Projects by OhNoJoJo on: May 22, 2012 04:10:56 PM

So i am totally on a crochet kick the past few months. I've been trying to come up with different things I can make besides the usual, blankets, washclothes, scarves, etc. After perusing the interwebs and pinterest for a while a saw a picture of knitted bike seat covers. Well since I'm not much of a knitter I decided to give crocheting a whirl. I did some googling and found this -----> tutorial. http://www.wardi.dk/2009/04/crochet-bicycle-seat-cover-pattern.html

I made this pink one following those instructions but it's really more of a beach cruiser seat size. So I winged the rainbow to fit my seat.  Grin C&C appreciated!

33  friendship necklace, fabric beads and more! (lots 'o pics!) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by OhNoJoJo on: April 09, 2012 06:52:21 PM

lately i have been really into making different jewelry stuff. it's not something I'm normally really into but it's been calling me lately.

the first one is just some old beads restrung and then crocheted around it.

this one is beads from the same old necklace but wrapped in fabric. I'm really digging fabric necklaces lately and am working on a few others too. i really love this fabric i used. it's part of a stash i got from my mom's best friend's mom. whew! haha i haven't decided yet how I'm gonna close it off. maybe add some chain and make it a necklace? or use it as a bracelet?? hmmm....

this one is another fabric wrapped one. i used some wooden beads from an old necklace and a white lace fabric. this one i'm pretty sure i'll add chain to and make a necklace but we'll see.

and here we have a necklace made from again, old beads and strung on pink embroidery floss. i then crocheted around the beads. i'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.

this wrap bracelet is probably my 2nd favorite. i used the same pink wooden beads from the lace necklace and strung them on blue embroidery floss, then crocheted around them. i love the wood and the colors together!

and last but certainly not least, a friendship bracelet necklace! haha i love me some old school friendship bracelets!

C&C always welcome!
there's more info on my blog about the creation of each.

34  Hot Pink Market Bag in Crochet: Completed Projects by OhNoJoJo on: March 26, 2012 09:52:31 AM
My sister just recently discovered the awesome that is the farmers market. Yay! So excited for her!! So, I figured she would need some reusable bags. I only have the one for her so far but I'm in the process of making more.

I based it off of this one I found on pinterest.  http://www.purlbee.com/crocheted-linen-grocery-tote/ But since I pretty much don't believe in gauge or using the specified hook size I have to wing it a little. Oh well. I love it and it stretches and expands nicely to hold all of her goods. I can't wait to mail it out to her!

35  dino-plantasaurus! ***UPDATE*** another dino to join the party! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by OhNoJoJo on: March 26, 2012 09:47:18 AM
So, I'm totally obsessed with dinosaurs! And I love having plants in the house but I am the kiss o death to most plants. I've discovered that cacti and succulents can handle my not so green thumb the best so that's what I stick with.

Anywho, I saw this amazingness on pinterest and new I had to do it!http://www.moredesignplease.com/moredesignplease/2011/3/25/plaid-pigeon-toy-planters.html

So, behold!

I totally love it and it was so easy! All I did was get a $1 dino at Michael's, cut a hole in it, paint it Martha Stewart's granny smith green and added a bitchin succulent. Woot! I think I need a whole gang of dino plants now.
***UPDATE***
My sister's birthday was in April and I thought she needed a planter too! So, tada!!!

36  Pop tab chainmail mermaid! in Halloween Costumes by OhNoJoJo on: November 08, 2011 10:27:02 AM

This is my mermaid! I spent the whole month of October working on this bad boy, and I may or may not have been working on it 20 minutes before we went out to celebrate... Time management is my arch nemesis. But I am still so happy with how it turned out!! Hope you like it!

Anywho, while messing around on stumbleupon in September I found a link to make chainmail out of pop tabs on intructables found here ---> http://www.instructables.com/id/Genuine-chainmaille-from-pop-tabs/ I thought it resembled fish scales and mermaid came to me! I don't drink soda and knew it would be impossible, not to mention unhealthy, to drink that much beer before Halloween so I enlisted the help of my dad. Lucky for me he and his buddies have been saving the tabs from their beer for about 3 years now, no reason why, they have just been doing it. Woot woot!

So he gifted me roughly 3000 tabs to work with. I didn't use all of them, my rough estimate is about 2000. So my tail is the tabs, cut with side angle cutters, bent and snapped together following those instructions. Here is a pic about 3/4 of the way done.

I hand sewed a band of green organza around the bottom edge of my tail tube and hand sewed a tail fin shape to the back of that. Unfortunately I don't have any pics clear enough to see my fin. Sad I also twisted some organza and weaved it through the top edge to help hold it up and keep it from digging into my hips. I had to leave the chainmail tube slightly open so I could get it up over my hips and butt. So once I pulled it on (with the back in the front so I could see what I was doing) my loving and ever so patient BF helped me snap it together. Then I shimmied it around so the tail was in the back.

For my top i cut a piece of felt into a rough bikini top shape and hot glued a ton of little sea shells to it, using a sand dollar I found at Huntington Beach as the center piece. Then I needed something to keep it on so I took a piece of recycled fishing net (that yes, unfortunately still smelled kinda fishy Tongue ) and draped it on my dress form to make a sort of tank top shape. I hand sewed the edges of the felt to the net so you couldn't see it. Once I put that on I had my BF tie the net in the back for me.

It took about 25 minutes to get the whole thing on and I'm not gonna lie, it was a little uncomfortable sitting down. Not to mention that I couldn't use the bathroom all night! Once it was on, it was on! It was a lengthy project that left me with blisters, small cuts from the tabs digging in when I had to sit in the car and a very full bladder all night but I'm still happy I did it. I am already thinking about what to make next year!

And here is a pic/shout out to my awesome BF (dressed as the most interesting man in the world) for helping me get into this thing. Oh and carrying me up stairs since I couldn't move my legs enough! Haha

PS sorry the pics are kinda blurry. And so huge. I kept getting an error through craftster so I had to use photobucket Undecided I am not good at photobucket...
PSS I have bikini bottoms on, not undies Wink

40  My mom's joy in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by OhNoJoJo on: May 08, 2010 04:49:00 PM
So I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, feel free to move if it's not. Tongue

So my lovely mom is a massage therapist as well as a joyologist. She helps people find their joy, so I thought I would make a little joy for her office.

I got some wooden letters from Joann and decoupaged them with colored tissue paper and a little elmers glue. (I love elmers!!!) hahaha

Then I hot glued ribbon to the back to hang it from.

Nothing too fancy but I had fun and she loved it!

C & C welcomed and appreciated!
