11  the craft apron that was way more involved than it should have been... in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by OhNoJoJo on: July 09, 2012 06:12:55 PM
so i love aprons. i don't know why i just really like them. so i decided to make a craft apron with lots of pockets to hold all of your tools and goodies. i looked at a lot of pictures on google images and then decided to just wing it. i usually wing things and they end up being way more difficult than they should have been. this was no exception. in hindsight i see all of the ways i could have made this easier and next time i will put them to use but i still love how it turned out. so here we go!

i don't know why this one keeps flipping sideways...

12  Blooming flower pillow!! in Crochet: Completed Projects by OhNoJoJo on: July 08, 2012 12:12:48 PM
After multiple hours and even more had cramps (how do old ladies do this so much??!!) I have finally finished! I used this tutorial. http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/blooming-flower-cushion.html I found that it became a little more spherical than I was hoping. I wanted it more flat like the pictures but I still like it.

Tada!!

I think from the side it looks a little bit like a cupcake. Maybe that's what I'll do next time!

13  Hot and cold rice packs! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by OhNoJoJo on: July 07, 2012 02:42:37 PM
Hopefully this is where this post belongs!

Anywho, so I recently remembered the awesome rice pack we had growing up. We kept it in the freezer so we had a soft cozy ice pack ready at a moments notice for boo boos and ouchies of all sorts. It was wonderful. So I decided to whip a couple up and I'm pretty stoked about the final product.

tada!

I love the purple one! It reminds me of the partridge family  Cheesy And the best part, they can also be microwaved and used as heat packs! Woohoo!

16  Summer kimono! (sorry the pics are giant) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by OhNoJoJo on: June 11, 2012 04:55:14 PM
Well I have just been working my little tail off on my projects lately. I'm trying to get more focused on being creative and spending less time doing time wasters. And I think I'm doing pretty good so far.
This is one of the things I made this morning. have been obsessing about THIS ----> http://apair-andaspare.blogspot.com/2011/08/diy-tribal-print-kimono.html kimono DIY from a pair and a spare for quite some time, but I haven't been able to find the right scarf. So today I had an idea to use some fabric I've been saving for a special project.

I just love this fabric!! And I'm so glad I finally found a use for it. And I still have some left over! It's from a stash I inherited from my mom's best friend.
I love how it turned out. It's so flowy and summery. Perfect for pairing with some cut offs and a tank top. Yay summer!!

17  Cupcake cosmetics bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by OhNoJoJo on: June 11, 2012 04:51:05 PM
I made this cute little cosmetics bag. It is made with a cotton cupcake fabric remnant I scored from Joann and is lined with some uber soft, sea foam green flannel I inherited in the same stash as the flower fabric. It's about 4x6 and I just love the cuteness of it!

19  Scrap bustin lapghan!! in Crochet: Completed Projects by OhNoJoJo on: June 04, 2012 04:36:18 PM
So I had all of this chunky yarn taking up space. Bits and pieces left over from previous projects, and some pieces that were cut up from a project I wanted to do but then got bored and tore it apart. So after seeing all sorts of "scrapghans" online I went for it!

It's small, 44x29 inches but i think it's the perfect size for laying across your lap while curled up on the couch reading a good book... *sigh*

It's mostly wool/acrylic blend yarn and some is just 100% acrylic. I love it! But I'm going to try and part with it... We'll see... It's just so inviting!

I also used up some pink and green acrylic yarn to make a small baby blankie, I call it the "watermelon blankie!"

C&C always welcome!

20  truly the most awesomest bike seat cover ever! in Crochet: Completed Projects by OhNoJoJo on: May 22, 2012 04:10:56 PM

So i am totally on a crochet kick the past few months. I've been trying to come up with different things I can make besides the usual, blankets, washclothes, scarves, etc. After perusing the interwebs and pinterest for a while a saw a picture of knitted bike seat covers. Well since I'm not much of a knitter I decided to give crocheting a whirl. I did some googling and found this -----> tutorial. http://www.wardi.dk/2009/04/crochet-bicycle-seat-cover-pattern.html

I made this pink one following those instructions but it's really more of a beach cruiser seat size. So I winged the rainbow to fit my seat.  Grin C&C appreciated!
