Thank you all for such nice comments! I'm going to be collecting those lids too!

I love embossing metal, but it's kind of expensive, so I was thrilled when I discovered that the inside metal lids off of food canisters, (I got mine off of a raisin package) can be embossed.  It already kind of looked like a christmas ornament so I decided to go with it.  I think it turned out really well.  I wish I had more stuff to open and use so I could make more of them!
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Ginormica from Monsters vs Aliens on: October 26, 2009 07:41:06 PM

I wanted to be Susan from Monsters vs Aliens, so I bought a unitard and went crazy with the puff paint.  It was a ton of fun, and the best part is that I used glow in the dark paint so I light up.  I cut off a couple of socks to make footies for it, and used a part of the sock to make the neck band. It's not quite exactly like the movie but I'm pretty happy with it.

That's such a cute idea!  It looks great. I might have to borrow it for my upcoming samhaine rite.

I think they're both really nice, though I can see what you mean about the faintness on the first one.

This is really beautiful!  I've only started exploring linocut, I haven't tried multi color projects yet.  Can I ask how you registered it by hand?  I don't have a lot of fancy stuff for lining it up.
