1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Supernatural papercut on: February 07, 2012 11:01:24 PM
That's right, I'm a SPN fangirl and this is a papercut of my favorite quote over the impala. I'm thinking of expanding this into a larger series Smiley

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Second Chance swap? on: February 07, 2012 10:17:00 AM
I know in the past there have been a couple of rounds of a redemption swap for crafters with negative feedback. In the last round I believe the recipients were all FOCs and the organizer assigned one crafter to each FOC. I've written the organizer of the last round and she has no intentions to do another, but would other people be interested in starting something like this?
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Altered moleskin notebook on: February 05, 2012 08:37:50 AM
My cousin is amazing and bought me some moleskins so I'm making plans to alter them all. At least a couple will be embroidered but this is the first one in the series and it's all papercrafting! Pics are of the front cover, inside back cover and back.

4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Large Folded Paper Flower on: February 03, 2012 10:04:56 PM
This idea (and the super easy tutorial to go with it) were both found here http://thelovelyresidence.blogspot.com/2010/10/youre-star.html through the magic of pintrest. I'm redoing my room in a boho theme and so I selected some vintagey looking paper and back it with textured solids in the appropriate colors. The colors are a little softer in the photo than in person, especially the blue, but overall I'm happy with it.

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted Cuffs on: February 01, 2012 01:22:01 AM
These are kind of funktastic, and while my stitches aren't the best I really love the contrast of the bright red buttons against the teal fabric.

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted Headband on: January 31, 2012 11:09:48 PM
I'm still pretty new to crochet so I'm working on little projects to perfect my gauge. This was my first attempt at a crocheted headband, done with some really awesome rainbow yarn I found on sale.

I'm not really happy with my seam which is still too visible, but you can't see it behind my hair so it's all good Smiley
7  UNITED STATES / Alabama / Birmingham meetup on: January 31, 2012 07:38:50 PM
I'm located in Birmingham near 5 points now and I'd be happy to host a meetup if people were interested. It'd be great to get a semi-regular crafting group going in the area Smiley
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Altered Boho Lampshade on: January 31, 2012 07:23:19 AM
Hello lovely fellow crafters. I'm in the middle of redecorating my room and have been hunting the local thrift stores for a suitable floor lamp. I'm decorating in this moroccan/boho theme and I know that I'll want to alter my lamp/shade accordingly but I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas.

I've seen plenty of beautiful altered lamps and shades with more of a chinese paper lantern look or with a lot of lace and frills, but not so much with the bohemian theme. Any suggestions/pictures you'd like to offer to help me on my quest? Tutorials are great but not necessary, I already have most of the skills/tools needed to do this, just not the inspiration to start.

Thanks!
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Wist swap on: September 07, 2010 11:54:25 AM
I'm working 50 + hours a week and don't have time to organize but would really love to participate in a P2P simple Wist swap like the one that wrapped up a couple of months ago that I missed Sad

If anyone else is interested in taking on this task I'd be happy to co-organize Cheesy
10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Collars? on: July 28, 2010 01:38:22 PM
So I'm a craftster (I know, you're all gasping in shock) and a kinkster as well. I often find myself disappointed when browsing for collars. The market is flooded with these thick leather/pvc monstrosities that might look all hardcore in adult films but aren't what the majority of people would want to wear 24/7. Even the ones that are "custom made" and decorated usually just have a few spikes or a little chainmail draping and maybe red leather instead of black. What about all the men and women who would like a pretty collar they can be proud of and still feel stylish in?

But I acknowledge that I'm weird, so I was wondering if people on here think there might be a market for this sort of thing? If so would etsy be a reasonable place or can you think of another venue that might be more appropriate and get a better response? I've only ever crafted for friends and swaps and certainly have NO experience selling the things I make so any advice at all would be helpful.
