I know in the past there have been a couple of rounds of a redemption swap for crafters with negative feedback. In the last round I believe the recipients were all FOCs and the organizer assigned one crafter to each FOC. I've written the organizer of the last round and she has no intentions to do another, but would other people be interested in starting something like this?
My cousin is amazing and bought me some moleskins so I'm making plans to alter them all. At least a couple will be embroidered but this is the first one in the series and it's all papercrafting! Pics are of the front cover, inside back cover and back.
This idea (and the super easy tutorial to go with it) were both found here http://thelovelyresidence.blogspot.com/2010/10/youre-star.html through the magic of pintrest. I'm redoing my room in a boho theme and so I selected some vintagey looking paper and back it with textured solids in the appropriate colors. The colors are a little softer in the photo than in person, especially the blue, but overall I'm happy with it.
Hello lovely fellow crafters. I'm in the middle of redecorating my room and have been hunting the local thrift stores for a suitable floor lamp. I'm decorating in this moroccan/boho theme and I know that I'll want to alter my lamp/shade accordingly but I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas.
I've seen plenty of beautiful altered lamps and shades with more of a chinese paper lantern look or with a lot of lace and frills, but not so much with the bohemian theme. Any suggestions/pictures you'd like to offer to help me on my quest? Tutorials are great but not necessary, I already have most of the skills/tools needed to do this, just not the inspiration to start.
So I'm a craftster (I know, you're all gasping in shock) and a kinkster as well. I often find myself disappointed when browsing for collars. The market is flooded with these thick leather/pvc monstrosities that might look all hardcore in adult films but aren't what the majority of people would want to wear 24/7. Even the ones that are "custom made" and decorated usually just have a few spikes or a little chainmail draping and maybe red leather instead of black. What about all the men and women who would like a pretty collar they can be proud of and still feel stylish in?
But I acknowledge that I'm weird, so I was wondering if people on here think there might be a market for this sort of thing? If so would etsy be a reasonable place or can you think of another venue that might be more appropriate and get a better response? I've only ever crafted for friends and swaps and certainly have NO experience selling the things I make so any advice at all would be helpful.
