6  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: TWO-Hour Sweater! on: August 20, 2009 08:50:32 AM
Awesome. I could really use a new vintage sweater for school. I am so in as soon as I buy some yarn.
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Snake for my sad nine year old sister on: August 07, 2009 09:40:04 AM
That's so sweet. Your sister is lucky to have such a nice Big Sis, and a Cool Mom. I've wanted a pet snake since I was six and they had Zoo day at my school. I remember they brought a large snake and wolf. They picked me to pet the wolf and everyone got to run their teensy weensy hand down the length of a snake. I'm a month from 17 and still convincing them to this day. <sigh>

Now, I feel like knitting myself a pet. =P
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Making fashionable clothes - any free tutorials/patterns?! on: August 05, 2009 06:21:51 PM
This is what I recently learned from a friend. Got to the store, try on the outfits you like, then when you're in the dressing room, do a quick sketch of the outfits and the pieces yadayada of the garment. Then go to your local thrift store and buy pieces to alter. From then on it'll all be trial and error.

Or you could always google free pattern garment you like. It works for me.

Or threadbanger. I always get inspired there.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: What to do with old tutus? on: August 05, 2009 06:15:04 PM
Stick it under a dress and call it a petticoat? I don't know what it looks like, but you could always get a tank top and sew it to the tutu, and call it an outfit. 8D?
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 2 Hats and a Shirt (ugly photos ahead) on: August 05, 2009 03:05:14 PM
I finally got to the point of summer boredom were one is desperate to do something fun. So I searched high and low for unwanted and unused shirts around my house, then massacred them for these frankenstein'd things.

Excuse the ugly photos. I suck at posing and photography. Yay.

<superlame>

Zoom up of the shirt. It says "I will think for myself."

Awesome hat with zebra pattern. Lame stenciling was lame. Will use bristol for next one.

Second floppy hat. This one is bigger because it was supposed to be for my brother. The dice things were rubber and sewing was pain in the donkey. I broke a needled because of it.

Well, there you go guys. Btw, my first post to the forums ever. Hah.
