2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Light up Redstone Torch on: March 04, 2014 02:44:29 PM
This was made for chrmisha (actually for her son) for the Minecraft Swap Round 2. My husband had just gotten home from work when I thought of this and I was just so excited! While he was in and out of sleep I was just babbling on about how awesome a light up torch would be. I had the leds together in parallel then the rows were put together in parallel. It actually puts out good light.

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Geek Easter Basket on: February 20, 2014 09:33:56 AM
Hi you guys! I had an idea for a geeky Easter basket swap. I was thinking one item could be a "basket" (Some sort of thing to hold eggs and candies!) I was thinking that it could be 3-4 point swap.
5  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Child abuse charity? on: February 18, 2014 07:12:29 AM
I was wondering if there were any charities for child abuse. It's something that I feel very strongly about and would love to be able to use my craft skills for that. Thank you guys!
6  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 95 ENTRIES / Plastic Bag tutu on: February 07, 2014 09:32:27 AM
Hello everyone! When I saw this I knew I wanted to do something with my growing collection of plastic bags. And I right away thought "Plastic bag skirt!" and out of curiosity googled it. I came across one at instructables. http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-poufy-skirt-out-of-garbge-bags-and-duct-tap/
So I gave it a shot and realized it would be too short so I added few more layers and ended up with this. Please ignore my post work zombie face it's been a bit busy in the office.

7  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Knit Bomb on: October 10, 2013 11:22:33 AM
So I saw this story last year but forgot to share it. I'm sorry if this doesn't count since it's not a chairty group but an idea for random act of kindness.

A local group of knitters made hats and scarfs and left them around town with tags attached people could pick them up and get free knitted items. Story here: http://www.zanesvilletimesrecorder.com/article/20121123/NEWS01/311230017/Knitters-bomb-Zanesville-creations

I was thinking how great it would be for crafsters to "Knit Bomb" (or crochet or sew) their area and someone finding a nice handmade item.

Hello! If you guys are anything like me then you probably have piles of unsorted craft supplies everywhere. I was thinking how awesome a swap for getting crafts organized would be.
Some inspiration for anyone interested.

9  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 86 ENTRIES / Twister Tote Bag on: May 04, 2013 07:46:45 AM
From this swap: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=401463.0#axzz2SKkpxvXe
The Board Games swap was one of my personal favorites because I had no idea what I was going to make at all. After helping out with a clothes give away at college I found a twister board that had a small hole in it.
Then I remembered the raincoat from a previous challenge and thought about what I could sew out of a twister bag and designed this tote bag. The handles are t-shirt scraps.

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Are Clay Cake Toppers Safe? on: May 29, 2012 03:08:07 PM
Hello everyone. I have recently (and happily) become engaged. I plan on most of the wedding being DIY (and my fiance agrees that it'll be better and funner for us to make most of the stuff) and that includes our cake toppers that we plan on making to look like little kitties.
However I was wondering is it safe to put clay on top of the cake? I plan on using fimo clay to make the cats and I'm not sure if it's safe for the cake or not. Thanks!
