1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Re: Best Printers for Printing Onto Fabric? on: August 04, 2009 10:00:26 PM
I have an EPSONR1800 which is a terrific printer with archival inks. The reason for the bad reviews could be that Epson is slow in updating software so we ended keeping my old iMac to print off of as we can't print from my new iMac. I'd suggest you go to yahoo groups and see if there are any groups on printers there's one for the Epson printers and it's been a help for me.

I like to write as well as illustrate, and was looking into purchasing a button maker. The cheap ones aren't worth it from my research. But there are people who create the button for you. I ended up having someone make my designs into pinbacks and am please with the outcome.
As far as cloth, I'd look into buying cloth buttons and cutting off the shank as suggested above.

I love the look of encaustic, nice job! I didn't know one could use oil paints with encaustic, I assumed the color came from colored wax. I'd like to try coating my paintings with wax but fear that the wax will melt under gallery lights.

I live in Milford CT. I was wondering if the restaurant Bloodroot was still around as I wanted to take my husband there-and now that I know they host some interesting craft meetings I will look into it in the future-Right now I'm swamped getting ready for two shows in the Fall but if things change I'd like to see what else Bloodroot has going. I needle felt, but lately have been painting. One of my mermaid pieces a print-is featured at the Walnut Beach Cafe in Milford this Thursday eve-August 6th Gallery Stroll- in their Mermaid Show:
