1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Some Christmas knits on: December 20, 2009 04:01:10 AM
Here are two things I've made over the past month for xmas presents.

The first is a scarf for my Mum.
Its knitted in Farrow Rib (K2 P1) it's a simple stitch but made it look really pretty.

My bf is modelling all the bits  Tongue excuse his grump face...Idk why he looked so grumpy!lol

Here is a close up

This second one is actually the FIRST hat I've made.
It was for my Secret Santa (Kris Kindle) in our Stitch N Bitch group.
I was pretty proud of it.

CO 66sts on 5mm straight needles
I knitted the red and pink yarn together in stockinette stitch for the rolled up brim for about 2 inches.
Then switched to the pink yarn and went to seed stitch for 8 inches and then decreased by *K2,K2tog starting from * all the way until I ended up with 5 stitches left.

Then I cut the yarn leaving a very long tail which I threaded through the 5 stitches and pulled tight.
I used the tail to seam the hat up in blanket stitch.
Seam it turned inside out btw or you will be left with a tip at the hat (the original design called for this but I didn't like it!)

So it was finished but I thought it looked a bit boring so I added a pom pom

Tah dah!!  Cheesy

I knitted this hat in a day so it's really easy to make.
I've been asked to make more now...lol
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Stripy Scarf (with hair brush) on: September 15, 2009 03:10:57 PM
I decided to knit myself a stripy scarf after all the scarves I've knitted for family members and my Boyfriend.

So I used:
Aran wool
6mm needles
cast on 30 stitches
changed colour every 10 rows.

I cheated a little with the tassles and you can also see where I mucked it bup a bit but I don't mind!lol

Can't wait to start using it
I did have a pic of me wearing it but I have no idea where it got to!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Head band on: September 14, 2009 04:05:13 AM
This is the first thing I've posted on here ^_^

It's a head band I made for myself (and I'm in the middle of making one for my Mum)

My Mum gave me some 100% cotton yarn and there wasn't enough to make something big so I decided to replace my head band that is fit for the bin.

I cast on 12 stitches and then just did it in seed stitch.
Simple...had it done by the end of the day ^_^
