1  Pixel Couple for cousin's wedding in Needlework: Completed Projects by scuttlebutt on: September 28, 2012 09:21:02 AM
Wow, I haven't posted in a loooong time. My cousin is getting married later today and I really wanted to make something personal for her.  I whipped up their little family in just a few hours.  The pattern was a mix of other pixel people I saw floating around and some Martha Stewart patterns. I found the frame and mat for $1.99 at Salvation Army. Score for being thrifty!

I hope she likes it!

2  Re: OTT Hunger Games Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by scuttlebutt on: March 22, 2012 01:29:59 PM
I received from Alatarial a few days ago and am super happy with my items! I wanted items that were 'subtly' Hunger Games related this time, and she delivered!

First is an arrowhead pendant on a leather cord. She bought it from a Native American tribe, super cool!

Second is a pair of blue sea glass earrings.  Blue for the color of Peeta's eyes (fave character).

Perfect length when worn.

Thanks again, Elen! I will definitely be sporting these for the midnight premiere Smiley (Only 7.5 hours to go!)

I got a package from JennaDickes today! I cannot believe what a perfect package it was. The amount of detail is amazing!

Here is everything together, Katniss shirt, Hanging Tree journal, necklace, keychain, woodburned mockingjay pin, Mellark Bakery hot chocolate, "Real or not Real" watercolor and the amazing amazing amazing arena embroidery.

Look at this detail! I am in complete awe! I can understand why your fingers hurt, Jenna!

Thank you soooo much! Such a great partner.

I have a rough pattern of the Night's Watch stitch if anyone is interested! I will scan it and upload it soon. Just message me if you would like a copy.

On a side note... I got AlwaysInspired package!! It is so amazing. I'm so lucky to have such a great partner. Dothraks, FTW! First off is a Khal Drogo embroidery, beyond perfect! And the extra is a Dothraki inspired necklace, made with a real game hen bone. These pictures don't do either of these justice. So glad they are all mine now Smiley

Close up of the necklace, love the little bead above the feathers. Khaleesi would definitely rock this!

And close up of the Drogo because the stitches are so amazing.

AlwaysInspired was featured on the Feeling Stitchy blog for this, congrats! And thanks again wonderful partner!

5  Bzzz! Bee Cross Stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by scuttlebutt on: August 30, 2011 02:01:25 PM
Hello! I made this during the Pushing Daisies swap for my awesome partner, Quinndustrious P. I used a dark gray & mustard color  because I thought it looked classy  Wink.  I used a pattern for the bee but free-handed the honeycombs. It was hard to let this go, might have to make a twin! (There's a bit of a reflection on the glass, it's not dirty aida, I promise!)

Happy stitching!

6  Stackable Cats Cross-Stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by scuttlebutt on: July 28, 2011 02:54:11 PM
Hey! I made this cross stitch last winter, just forgot to post it. My friend loves cats and I changed the pattern around so it reflects her 4 different kitties.  It was quite fun to stitch up. Original pattern can be found here: http://mochimochiland.com/2009/05/free-cross-stitch-pattern-stackable-cats/

Happy Stitching!

Prepare to be insanely jealous! Quinndustrious P. absolutely spoiled me Smiley

1. Embroidery of Young Ned & Digby on Halloween. It's my favorite moment of the show; I am in awe of how well she captured it! My jaw dropped when I pulled it out of the package!
2. Two bandanas from Digby: one bee, one pies! Handstamped, too!
3. The three stamps which were used to stamp the bandanas. The pie is double sided, so fancy!
4. An aunts inspired notebook, the fabric captures them so well!
5. Honeycomb inspired bracelet, which I am currently wearing.

Some detail shots, just to show how amazing everything is! I suspect bee's will soon be stamped onto everything I own.

Cute little Digby, who will shortly be gracing my wall!

I can't thank you enough Quinn. This was my first swap and you made it such a great one!  Grin

8  Game of Thrones inspired shirt! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by scuttlebutt on: June 03, 2011 09:45:53 PM
I've fallen completely and madly in love with HBO's Game of Thrones. I haven't read any of the ASOIAF books, but I'm thinking I should. My boyfriend requested a House Stark t-shirt and voila! I used the freezer paper method. Super fast and easy. I'm making myself a Targaryen one next! (I have the biggest girl crush on Daenerys.)

9  Wood-Carved Flowers in Completed Projects by scuttlebutt on: May 24, 2011 08:26:40 AM
I was really unsure of where to put this, so miscellaneous topics it is! I took a relief printmaking class a couple years ago and really enjoyed the woodblock prints we did. There's something about carving wood that is so satisfying.  I loved the look of the block itself.  I did this for Mother's Day last year.  I carved the flowers and then did a quick wash-paint job so the wood grain would still show through.

Detail Shot:

The whole thing is about 1 x 2 feet. My mom loves it!

10  Antique Monogram in Needlework: Completed Projects by scuttlebutt on: February 17, 2011 06:50:21 AM
My boyfriend and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, but I still wanted to do something small for him. I chose to do a monogram of our first initials (J,K) layered together.  I got the pattern from the Antique Patterns Library. (Love that!) Only took a couple hours to stitch.

Oh and bonus, I found this great frame at a flea market for $1!

Letters are in a light gray & darker gray, heart is done in a burgundy color.

Thanks for looking!  Smiley
