1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Cat Litter Cabinet and Feeding Station on: December 27, 2009 12:51:33 PM
First I want to point out that my inspiration for this project came from this post here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=291147.0 - Thank you very much!

I went to a resale store where leftover construction stuff is sold for cheap and I got this double cabinet and a piece of counter top for $50. The counter top is too big (as you can see), but being lazy and not very construction savvy, I just left it and I use the overhang for storage of food, litter, an carrying cases for kitties. Inside there is 2 large litter pans and a hole was cut out of the back for easy access. The hole that you can see in the front at the bottom was already there - part of the reason it was in that store to begin with. I am thinking of making a little "skirt" or something to hide it, but I'm not sure if that would just collect more cat hair and look bad or not.

And the picture!

I don't know why the thumbnail isn't working. I couldn't use Craftster photo hosting because it's not letting me upload anything at the moment. I'll try it again a little later on.
Nevermind! Fixed it.
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Patriotic Poppet on: June 25, 2009 05:37:00 PM
I made this for the Friends of Craftster Raffle swap USA version. The theme was red, white, and you, so I made a patriotic poppet. I think she came out pretty good. I'm not super happy with her hair, but I'm never happy with my poppet's hair. I'm really happy with her dress and apron-they came out much cuter than I thought they would. I hope you guys like her too.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Japanese Knot Bag (Reversible) on: May 03, 2009 11:00:25 PM
While I was browsing around online today I came across this tutorial for a Japanese Knot Bag. The instructions and pattern seemed simple enough, so I printed it out and got to work. It was pretty simple and while it was a little smaller than I thought it would be I really love it. I am going to pack some stuff in it and start carrying it around.

The Outside

Reversed - I probably would have used this fabric for the outside, but I didn't have enough fabric to make a matching bottom, so it became the lining.

Here is the bag knotted.

Here is the original design: Show Me Your Workings

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pink & Blue Bunnies on: April 12, 2009 11:35:57 PM
I made these to send to some penpals. I guess they are just in time for Easter, although by the time they arrive, Easter will be over. That's ok though. I think they came out pretty cute. I don't really know a lot about embroidery, but the nose and mouth came out ok. The only thing I wish I did was add a tail, but I totally forgot.

These were so quick and easy to make. I like things that I can just bust out in one sitting.  Smiley
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Netbook Bag Envelope Style on: March 02, 2009 06:36:29 PM
First I want to give thanks to this tutorial. It really helped me figure out to how to do a lining. Even though the tute is for a zipper bag, I just replaced the zipper with a flap.

This is only my 2nd bag that I've made without a pattern. I'm especially pleased with how the flap came out since I just winged it. I also added some batting on the inside to make the bag a little more protective of the netbook (it's a Dell Mini 9). The only thing I have left to do is add a closure. I was thinking about a button or something, but I don't have any in my stash that are big enough.

What do you think? Any other ideas for a closure besides a button? Input appreciated.  Smiley
6  UNITED STATES / Missouri / STL Swap-O-Rama-Rama 2/21/09 on: February 19, 2009 05:38:52 PM
I saw an ad in the Riverfront Times for this. Of course, I won't be able to go since it is this Saturday. I wish I knew a few weeks ago, but I wanted to post it in case anyone else nearby could go.

According to the RFT ad, it is from noon to 4pm and admission is one bag of clean used clothes to swap. It is at the Missouri History Museum (Lindell and DeBaliviere in Forest Park 314-746-4599). It also says that experienced sewers will be on site to help if you need it.

(I am in no way affiliated with this event or the museum or the RFT-I just wanted to mention it in case anyone was interested.)
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Doll Scarf (1st crochet project) on: January 20, 2009 05:46:19 PM
OK, so actually it's my 2nd, but my 1st...well, I'd rather not talk about it.  Tongue

It's a little curly-I guess I'm not quite sure how to control tension yet. I know this is so plain and simple, but I have to be honest-I'm just so proud of it! I really hope to be able to make amigurumis some day, but this is a nice start-at least I finished it.

It will go to a swap partner (not the deer, he's just the model).
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / A Simple Kitty Cat on: September 03, 2008 04:03:14 PM
This my third complete cross-stitch. I have started with really small projects in order to gain some confidence. This was a kids "learn to craft" project. I thought it was cute, so I did it myself.  Smiley

Being a project for a kid, it was really simple. I didn't like how a lot of the line work went either, but I went ahead and just followed the pattern. It looks a little messy to me, but I still think it's cute.

Enjoy.
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Mary Engelbreit "Flower Pot" on: June 29, 2008 03:26:20 PM
This is my 2nd time completing a cross-stitch. It came in a little kit that included everything needed to complete the design. I didn't really like all the outlining at the end, but it really would have looked incomplete without it. The floss included in this kit was terrible-even as a beginner I could tell it was poor quality, but I still managed to get it finished. I know there are some mistakes-some by accident, some on purpose because I'm lazy, but it's ok.

Alright, enough rambling-here is the product.

By the way, this was also my first experience with french knots-fun!  Smiley
10  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / PM Pop Ups... on: June 10, 2008 06:21:24 PM
(I hope this is where this goes.)

I have my preferences set to notify me with a pop up when I get a new PM, but lately, I haven't been getting it. It always worked in the past, whether I was already on Craftster or just arriving to the site.

Just a few minutes ago I received a new message, but I only noticed because of the  "Hello KiwiDragons! You have 1 unread Personal Messages." message. Is this just me? Thanks for help!
