I am designing a dress and I would like it to have flutter sleeves kind of like this:

However, I am kind of lost on how to cut the shape and how the lengths should be and everything (for the armhole etc).  Can anyone help?

Hey there! I must have posted that ages ago.  I have already made 3 of them! Once I sold on one my website, then I got 2 custom orders for it! I should have a picture of the third one I made in a few days, but here is the first one:


I replaced the edging with lace and I really liked the effect!
I made one in green with lavender lace and just recently grey with cream lace.

Your site is really great! I just cut my fabric for the knickerbockers now

I am a pretty good sewer but I am just learning the techniques for pattern making, etc. But, I guess this is more of a sewing question.  I am making an evening gown kind of like the picture below and I haven't a clue how to line it.  I had some lessons on the patterns but I forgot to ask about the lining and how to sew it!

Could anyone give me step by step instructions (they can be basic) how to go about this?  Like how to put it in.  I have done skirts before but that is easy, I am not sure about the top part and how to connect it to the dress

Does anyone have a clue how to make a bubble hem that poofs a bit, or a whole skirt like that?

lillies- thanks! yes, i posted on there most likely.  bedsheets are great. so much fabric for cheap! it just got another one with all different size/color pastel hearts! SO cute for valentine's. i am making a shirt for my boutique then a dress for myself.
