21  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Come one come all post your new tattoo IDEAS! on: May 17, 2007 05:05:32 AM
i hope this is the right place for this.
i have an appt to get a nautical star tomorrow on my left forearm just below the elbow crease.  nothing too big, smaller then a silver dollar,  in red & black.  i have two relatively big tattoos on my back.  but oh my goodness im so nervous about the placement!  on one hand i like it, part of me even likes the idea that i'll have to deal with people seeing it.  but then again i dont know:O   no one has ever "bothered" me about my back tats, so why would it be different with one on my arm? any comments?

23  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / looking for pic for a pin-up girl knitting on: May 08, 2007 03:29:56 PM
i know i have seen an avatar of a pin-up  girl knitting a sweater as she is wearing it.  i's love to see it again.  i have been looking thru pages and pages of completed projects in hopes of finding it or is it from a webpage?  i've tried googling too with no luck...
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Drowning in I-Cord--What should I do with it? on: May 08, 2007 12:25:18 PM
you can stitch it together into a hat.  think of a bee hive...
i also have an absolutely sick mind and i pictured the concept of some poor depresed knitter knitting an icord an hanging themselves with it when i saw the title (sorry- sicko i know it)
25  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: origami cardigan style sweater (Berroco pattern)--lots of pics on: April 30, 2007 03:13:56 PM
it's interesting.  i wasnt expecting it to be so short in the back. it reminds me of a asytemical cardigan i saw in a magazine (the magazine name escapes me now) but i heard the pattern was poor.   it would probably make for a good wrap to take out on chilly nights or in air conditioning.  i'll make a mental note to check out interweave's version.  about how long did it take you?   thanks for sharing!
26  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: how much roving? on: April 18, 2007 02:03:48 PM
ok that makes sense.  i do feel better after i found out all 40 kids arent doing it at once, but we are rotating stations.
27  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / how much roving? on: April 18, 2007 12:08:39 PM
i'm helping my son's kindergarten class with the summer picnic activity.  i suggested wet felting balls by hand.  seemed simple enough until i found out it was going to be for 2 classes and i was put completely in charge!
so if there's close to 40 six-year olds and i want them to a have a nice 2-3 inch ball.  how much roving do you think i'd need? 1lb? 2lbs? more?
any other suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!  i've done this at home many times with my own kids but now organizing it for 40 seems so daunting.
thank you so much.
