21  knitty's surf & turf skirt!!!! in Knitting: Completed Projects by punkrockmom on: July 07, 2006 06:36:29 PM
after two attempts at the knitting& one wining ebay bid (my daughter ripped out the 1st try)then a trip to garden state to have my sister sew  it for me i'm proud to post a photo of my surf & turf skirt from knitty!.  my brother is having a fun & casual wedding on the 22nd and i made for that but i've had a lot of requests to wear after that too so people and see it!

hope you all like it!! i had trouble  finding photos of theses, i dont know people did  it them or if just an older pattern or what...

here's a toboggan hat i knit for my 5 year old but its too long!  its a total of 48 inches  long! i think i'll tie a knot in the tail to take up some slack.  im going to give it to him as a birthday present in august- i hope he likes it.

i knit this up using 2 strands of lionbrand's BIG yarn on 19's &  50 needles.  its for my hubby's cousin after she asked for one since she liked  the yarn but  she wanted one with two colors.   i did post under discussions looking for advice and i worked  this out on my own- i know its not much to brag about but since  i asked for advice i thought i'd post my finished item.

i picked up some of this yarn since its being discontinued and knocked out garter stitch scarves on size 19 & 35 needles  in 45 mins.   well my hubby's cousin liked the looks and asked i could make  one for her so i want to do something a little bit more special for her but nuttin seems to be working out well.  i thought about trying one of those scarves with mutliple tails  (like embrace  on knitty but the  tails would hang down)  she wants a scarf using two colors (pink & green)
 ok time to get back to the mom part of my life- i hope when i check back in with knitting part of my life some  of y'all crafty people might have some ideas for me

i just ordered this dress...

going to a dance with the dh on 4/29.  im hoping to receive it maybe wed or thursday.  what should i knit to go with it? a triangle shawl?  a rectangle stole? be brave and strong and true and try and do a whole cardigan??? javascript:void(0);   
i dont think i'll need a wrap much for indoors for its still chilly at night here on the east coast.  any help will be apperciated.  plus im waiting for the dress to get here, then i plan on taking the belt out to a few LYS's to look for a pink yarn that will be a good match

 i have a claddagh bracelt from husband, its a design different then any i have ever seen before very sleek modern and clean. i would love  to reproduce  it some how on canvas and hang it over my front door (to fit a 5x7 frame), alas i lack the talent.  i tried it as a paper collage but it looked like a 3rd grade art project not quite the look i was going for...
here's the bracelet
 any ideas?  how could i find someone willing to help me even if for a small fee?

this has been a ton of work and i dont even know where to post it!!  i spun teh yarn, knit the bag, felted the bag, and needled felted the snowman scene froma kit my mom gave me!

lets see the blue , natural & the coral are both from my mom's sheepies, and the coral is mohair.  the blue & coral i also dyed as roving
