I was crazy busy writing two papers this weekend, but was able to pull out a few things. I haven't filled the box completely yet though and have to go through the closet to pull out some other things I'm sure my partner will like.

This hat is awesome! I just finished making your other slouch hat earlier, I didn't get a chance to take pictures, but I will and I'll post them. I would love the pattern for this hat if you would be willing to share it.

This is awesome! Any chance of a pattern? My brother loves weird hats. Maybe I can figure it out, I just have to find a tute on how to do the tentacles.

I'm really looking forward to this, now all I have to do is decide what the right thing is to send to my partner. I probably won't get a chance to start stuffing my box until thursday night or friday, I have school all day tomorrow and my internship on Thursday.

I guess I got lucky when I stopped by my post office, they had a bunch of the boxes in all sizes.

lindyv321 I was thinking a way that you could get lots of different types of fibers for your Rapunzel scarves is if you tell your partner the length of yarn you have been using then people (like me) who have lots of different novelty yarns could send you a bunch of different yarns. I have so many fun yarns because when I used to knit I only knew how to make a basic scarf and I bought fun yarns to make them look special.

Stuff to offer:

LOTS of , twirly shaped candles (they're really cool), lace trim, buttons, coffee bean beads (made them myself), seed beads, glass beads, beads salvaged from jewelry, glass beads, seashells, ribbon, various cotton fabrics (1/4 yard or less), Halloween cross stitch kit, embroidery pattern transfers, tangerine scented fragrance oil, vintage (1979) Disney paper punch-out Christmas tree decorations  (really cute!) - I will have to punch every thing out of the book to make it fit in the shipping container.

This all sounds like just the stuff I want I love unique beads and jewelry pieces. I also love the embroidery transfers because I can also use them for other things.

Are Tunisian crochet needles any different from regular crochet needles??? I thought you used the same thing... but then again, I haven't tried it.

I haven't tried tunisian crochet yet, but according to what I've read they are different needles. But for sure if I'm wrong then let me know. Smiley

I am so excited about this swap, not only because it is my first swap, but also because I won't have to spend a lot of money to participate. I have to look through my things because I'm sure there are supplies I'm forgetting about.

Have: Fabric lots of variety in yardage, polymer clay(I've had it for a while so it is a little hard), a lot of novelty yarns (moda dea, funky fur, and patons), a variety of glass beads, variety of natural beads, silver plated jewelry findings and beads, embroidery floss, and glass paints.

Want: tunisian crochet needles, yarn, glass beads, natural material beads, focal beads, crochet patterns, novelty fabrics (geared towards teens), broken jewelry, whimsies, and paint brushes

The only thing I don't really want is scrap booking materials because I don't really do that craft.
290  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: What are your Christmas gift ideas? on: October 29, 2009 11:59:01 AM
I already made a beanie hat with skull and cross bones on it for my brother, I want to make something Nightmare Before Christmas for my other brother. I'm making a scarf for my future brother in-law using a grey and blue suede yarn. I plan to make a shawl for my future mother in law. Possibly a shawl for my future sister in law. I haven't figured out what I'm doing for my mom or niece, and I don't want to spend the time making something for my sister because she is mean. I also want to make a 1up mushroom afghan for my fiance, but I have to find the time and get the yarn, both are hard because I'm in grad school.
