4501  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Christmas Ornament Swap 2009 [Sign-ups Sept 6th through 15th Sendouts Oct 15th] on: September 06, 2009 09:20:14 AM
GAH! I knew that a swap like this would open up before I finished my first official swap. Sad

I'm completely into making Christmas ornaments.

What's the possibility of having another similar swap in the next month or so?

(I don't want to threadjack so PM me if you have this answer please! Smiley )

I'm glad to know that you haven't left this Earth!

My DH has been sick this past week so I've had the house/kids/job all to myself and I am worn out. I've been crafting just to keep my sanity in tact, but I'm not sure it's working. lol

Oh that is so cute! Thank you for posting an update on this project. Smiley

I would try the felt for stiffness or maybe some iron on interfacing. The popsicle sticks and wire wouldn't be safe imo.

What design is in the fabric of the mat itself?

I've never heard of a tarot quilt. How did you choose which design/cards to use as the blocks?

My husband makes the best mojitos! We keep a plant during the spring/summer and dry leaves for the cooler months.

It's also nice to throw a leaf into a regular hot cup of tea especially if you head is a bit stuffy. Smiley
4505  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Oh the ornaments! (img heavy) on: September 05, 2009 04:51:24 AM
I finally have a moment to post my holiday ornaments from last year. I'm currently working on several batches for the upcoming season. I'll share those when I'm done. Grin

(I was still learning how to use our digital camera so sorry for the blurriness!)

My Snowman ornament

Santa's underwear

The note written by the Elves that goes with the underwear ornament:

Dear Santa,
We know you work real hard to bring the Christmas cheer
And we the elves wanted to give you a gift this year
But we looked throughout your house
And your stockings were not there.
We hope you do not mind because
   We stuffed your underwear!

Santa's backside...lol!

I'm in the Holiday Helpers Swap too! Maybe we'll end up crafting for each other's husband because I can't really craft for mine and keep it a secret. lol
4509  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / My 1st Happy Hooker Hat! on: September 02, 2009 06:19:43 PM
I just finished my first hat and I LOVE it!   Cheesy

It's worked in half double crochet through the back loop. I added the spike stitching because it looked sort of plain and then added the tassels.

My daughter (3.5 yo) has already asked for one. I might make one for a stocking stuff since it doesn't get really cold here until January.

*insert happy Troublet dance here!*

Close up pic and an actual pic of the top of my head wearing my creation. If I show any more of my face, your monitors would probably melt. LOL!

Is this deadline going to be extended? I had seen some mention of that I think...
