22  Re: Star Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by imera on: March 07, 2011 01:33:05 PM
Finally, I managed to find some time to actually  sit down and post these pictures Cheesy

When I received the parcel I actually jumped, I was really happy.

The colour is really fresh Cheesy love them.

When we started I told her that I would love a needle book, and I got one Cheesy I was really amazed by it, it's so beautiful. The sewing across it is supposed to be the milky way, which I love.

I also told her that I like to stay organized (even if someone would not agree, but don't listen to them, I a organized, love shoe boxes Tongue ) So she gave e this amazing apron that can be rolled together Cheesy And she added a small star needle pillow and decorated the apron with the Sagittarius star sign, with BUTTONS! how did she know I love buttons?

23  Re: Fake Swapping Craft-along (ongoing) in Craftalongs by imera on: February 18, 2011 04:57:23 PM
I received my item one day after I signed up :O my swapper is quick Tongue

I should have been more specific about the theme in from the start but I love it anyway, it's sort of a mix between classic and fun.

Love the angle and the buttons Cheesy

And here is the filling, a lot of beads, findings, some scrapbook embellishments, ribbon, seashell, a cameo and a pretty die-cut angel.

My swappers comment was: It was more difficult to find the finding than to decorate the box Tongue But I completed this fake swap in 3 hours, with no idea of how the finished product should look like.

24  Re: Bookmark Swap - Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by imera on: February 18, 2011 02:47:10 PM
I received my parcel yesterday, I was shock at the speed since I can still remember receiving the PM about it being sent.

My heart jumped when I realized it must be the bookmarks, I was so excited.
And when I opened it my smile brightened.

The bookmarks are wonderful, first of all, I had no idea I would receive two!

The first one has lovely paper and a handwritten quote from Jane Austen - "but for my own part, if a book is well written, I always find it too short."
The second is so pretty, patterns and colours, love it Cheesy

Can't decide which one I like the most

And then she sent me this wonderful gift, her copy of Pride and Prejudice, my fav story so far that I haven't read yet, now at least I don't have to look for the English version.
I added some detail shots of the lovely bookmarks

25  Glittery animals in CHALLENGE 57 ENTRIES by imera on: December 05, 2010 05:33:36 PM
I'm tired and sleepy, working on this project for four days (which is as long as I have known about this months contest) Just came back today and had to finish it before I'll go to bed, it's not fun not to have any time.

I hope you guys like it, it's the Christmas animals.

If you want to know how I made them keep on reading, if not scroll down to the pictures.
I blew up the silhouette, the elephant ended up on a A3 paper, the same with the giraffe and the long arm/tentacle to the octopus. Then I traced them over on cardboard paper, and cut them out. I then found some gift paper and tried to decoupage them on, which I can't seem to get right every time I try, need to read some tutorials maybe. As soon as they had dried I applied glitter on them; except for the octopus and giraffe I traced the images of the gift paper. Then I made a few bows and added them on the squirrel and giraffe. That is about it, I know the glitter doesn't show that well but they are shinning like the stars outside my window right now.

Elephant: It's 33 cm (13") wide and 28 cm (11") tall
The gift paper is my favourite, blue snowy town, but the elephant doesn't beat my favourite animal I made, the giraffe.

Giraffe: It's 48 cm (18.9") tall and 11 cm (4.3") wide
My favourite one, even without the bow, I love the angel paper but my favourite part was the spots on it.

Squirrel: It's 22 cm (8.7") wide and 18 cm (7.1") tall
Because the images were big and with a person it was difficult to add glitter, but I think I managed.

Octopus: It's 26 cm (10.2") tall and 44 cm (17.3") wide
I added the glitter today, it only had a few hours to dry before it had to go through a short photo session. The paper is only stripes so I had to add the circles, which I didn't quite like, but it's too late to change it now.

Koala: It's 19 cm (7.5") tall and 15 cm (5.9") wide
The cutest one I think, managed to get the wreath around its nose, and had no idea the bow was resting against his ear. I love glittering up the trees and wreaths, it was so much fun.

I hope you guys like it even if it's not perfect, I might have done something different if I had read the post before the first December.

All the animals will now be placed around in my sisters naked bedroom walls.

26  Bride and Groom - papercut in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by imera on: September 20, 2010 02:31:48 AM
I have been prolonging this far to long, so I'm afraid it's not something new, but it is something at least.

I love paper, and if it was possible I would find a job where I could design paper, or just play with paper. But right now I am happy just playing with it whenever I have time. Papercutting is something I accidentally stumbled upon, and loved it at once, so I began to search for papercutting, but there aren't really that much out there.

This is one of the first things I tried to cut out, and it was fun. I hope you like it as well.

27  Laced rose bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by imera on: June 30, 2010 03:25:44 AM
This bracelet is made for Christy Nelson's monthly challenge, where we get different supplies each month and have to do something crafty with it. The supplies we received this month was glitter paper, pill bottle, clay, raffia and favour cup to use. When I received the package I had no idea what to do with it, until I got the idea to make a necklace.

After gluing together the raffia I began to make a macram necklace, making a favour cup bow, glitter paper rose and clay beads with melted plastic bottle pieces attached to them. What I ended up with was OK, but I didn't like it, so I ripped it apart and began again. (If anyone want to see how my first attempt looks like you can see it on my blog)

For my second attempt I used some extra thread, since it was almost impossible to reuse all the raffia. I also had to make smaller beads, since the first ones was a bit too big for a bracelet. When I was done braiding the thread with the beads and added the rose and changed the paper bow to leafs, I sew on the lace and ribbon and then I was done. I really like it, and will probably try to make another one with different material later.

28  May challenge - plant deco in Completed Projects by imera on: May 26, 2010 02:34:41 PM
Have anyone heard about Christy Nelson's monthly challenge? We get a package every month and then we have until the end to make one craft project with the supplies she provided. It is my first month but I think I did well.
This month we had leather straps, mirrors, floral wire, wreath and styrofoam beads.

I bend the wire into flowers, I blued the leather to the flowers and the mirror, and I put the styrofoam beads into the oven so it would shrink, something I experimented with, hoping it would melt, but it didn't.

I'm not sure what it's called but it's something you add to the plants to decorate it, does anyone know the name of it?

What do you think? It's the first time I have tried to do something like this.

29  Red, white and blue in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by imera on: May 22, 2010 03:33:56 PM
So this is my first post on Craftster, I decided that it's time for me to show what I like to try out.

17th May was the Norwegian Constitution Day, and this year I decided to try something new.

I used glass beads, small plastic beads, pearls, all in the three colours of my country's flag, and wire, a lot of wire.
