1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / question about yarn from sweaters? on: January 18, 2010 01:06:40 PM
I found a sweater the other day at the goodwill, it doesn't fit but I love the color so much I want to take it apart for the yarn. Is there any way I can do that?
Thanks so much!

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Masquerade Masks swap? on: January 10, 2010 09:08:26 PM
I have looked around the swap & archives and saw no one has ever done a Masquerade Masks Swap! I would love to do one, if anyone else is interested? I've never organized a swap before, but I could learn, or if anyone else is interested please feel free! =]
I would just LOVE to do this and my friends are holding a huge masquerade ball at the end of the semester in May so it would be very convenient. =P
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Product of a Snowy Day, Alice in Wonderland style (pic heavy) on: January 07, 2010 09:00:22 PM
So my sister is redecorating her room in Alice in Wonderland and since today we got completely snowed in (5 inches=too much for me!) I decided to paint her a little something. It's probably one of my best pieces, if I do say so myself.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Best way to paint on leather? on: January 06, 2010 08:43:56 PM
So I have this old vintage black leather jacket. It used to be my dad's in the 70's, no lie. For the longest time I have been wanting to paint white angel wings on the back of it.
I was wondering what the best kind of paint would be to apply to leather? That wouldn't come off in the rain or peel and scratch away?
Any ideas?
Any of you craftsters have similar projects you can share?
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / tree paintings. =] on: October 22, 2009 06:23:31 PM
So, here it is. The first is supposed to be kind of like a weeping willow, and I used metallic acrylics.
The second is an autumn tree in watercolors. I dont really like how the second turned out, which really dissapoints me since watercolors are usually my bffl.

Both are done on newspaper scrap. I may go over the watercolor sometime this weekend and try to fix it.

What do you think?
C&C always welcome, help me improve.

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / beginners stuff. on: October 18, 2009 06:31:17 PM
So embroidery is probably my favorite medium, but I am just starting out and don't know the stitched and all that very well, but I thought I'd post some stuff I did recently anyways. =]
The first is a tree I found and the second is a close up of a really big octopus.
I am obsessed with trees! I paint them, stitch them, draw them.
I even have the tree of life tattooed on my shoulder blade.
Right now I'm stitching a baby zombie, and its coming along nicely. I'll post pics when its complete.

7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / poem art on: October 18, 2009 06:06:51 PM
I am a creative writing/art education double major in college and I really wanted to combine my two favorite things, art and poetry. What do you think?
It is an emily Dickenson poem.
My favorite poem, ever.

8  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Transformer pumpkin! on: October 18, 2009 03:09:32 PM
So this is the first pumpkin Ive ever carved, and I absolutely LOVE what i did with it! =]
I just found the autobots/decepticons symbols online, traced them, then fixed it so there werent any floating holes in them, then cut out the design and used sharpie to put it on my pumpkin.
I'm very proud of my first pumpkin ever.
