I claim PadFoot for the Firefly embroidery from her wists

2nd claim, 0 sent, 0 recieved

Hi my name is Jeni. I am a 19 year old college student in NJ. I have 3 cats and a mom (I sometimes think shes the kid). I am an admitted geek who is addicted Sci Fi. Doctor Who (and spin-offs), Firefly, Angel, Repo and Dr. Horribles Sing-A-Long Blog are some of my drugs. I also adore crime shows: Bones, NCIS (original, not LA), and Castle are among my favorites. House, Burn Notice, Dexter (I'm just about to start the 4th season), Psych, Pushing Daisies are some other favorites. Honestly, Im bad at picking favorites. I love to travel, especially to Australia. Photography, biking, and crafting are my main hobbies. I mostly do scrapbooking and embroidery. I love knitted or crocheted items, but my hands arent coordinated enough for me to make them myself, so if you are able and willing to make something for me, even just a funky hat, I would love it. Im trying to stick with natural fibers, but synthetic is fine if thats what you have. My mom is allergic to wool and Im allergic to strawberry, but those are the only big no nos. My favorite color is blue. Im not really into pink or red, or really bright colors. I dont really hate any styles, but I do like Steampunk, Victorian, Geek Chic, and vintage (especially 20s, 50s, and 60s). I like pretty things, but Im not a girly girl. I am a big fan of butterflies. I love music, almost all of it. Honestly the only things I really splurge on are crafts, music and books. OH! Books! I love books, maybe more than Dr. Who. Im an eclectic who would appreciate anything, randomness is my friend. I feel like Im halfway through writing a novel so Ill stop now. Thank You for whatever you make me!

I don't know where I got it, but it's called Alphabets Galore. It's a Charts for Less by Leisure Arts. Hope that helps.

I have a pattern book of alphabets, it's one of my favorite pattern books. I use it for almost every cross-stitch project I do. I'm glad you guys like them, they were one of my favorite sets to make.
37  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / My first mask since grade school- lots of pics on: October 04, 2010 01:18:48 PM
So last year I was re-wearing a store bought costume. So I decided it needed a little DIY, so I made a mask. The costume was a red and black "gown", so I made the mask black with red crystals.

Here's a pic. of the whole thing. It's attached to a ribbon wrapped dowel, with some ribbons hanging down.

This is relatively accurate to color. basically it's a plastic mask, decoupaged with black paper with a slight silver sheen.

You can kind of see the sheen in this one. I tried to get some wrinkles and rough edges to get a kind of worn, leathery look.

Side detail. The other side is done in the same way.

Here are the ends of the ribbons, I put the same crystals on each side to add a little weight and extra sparkle.

I wasn't sure if it was safe to use hot glue, so I attached the dowel with tacky glue and ribbon to add support. It's not the strongest ever, but it didn't fall apart.

I'm hoping to make another one this year to go with my costume.
Comments/suggestions are super welcome.

Ok here are the promised non-mirror image pics plus missriss.

Little Splat was feeling left out, since he's usually the star of photos in the house, so he crashed the photo shoot:

Missriss's wonderful inchies, I really do like the thread one:

Kartiana's, I love the aged looking one:

Bananasandhair, I really like "off limits":

Krafty_Karasu, I am so intrigued by the wax drop:

And the front of the card, just because I love butterflies and it's so pretty:

Yup, he snuck into the pic with your.bestnightmare's inchies:

I can't choose between library.lover's butterfly or "book" inchies as my favorite:

I like R.Forslund's "self esteem" inchie a lot:

The 10th and some extras:

I've put them all in my special things box until I have a place to display them safely away from cats. I love them all and thank you for sharing with me.
39  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Yes, and her petticoat; I hope you saw her petticoat, six inches deep in blood. on: October 04, 2010 06:14:59 AM
This is so cool. You did a great job.
40  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Inchie Secrets Gallery on: October 01, 2010 06:21:21 AM
Ok so my computer apparently hates me and won't let me upload the pics I took with my camera, so I used the built in camera. However the built in camera apparently takes mirror images, you learn something new everyday. So I'll put up the mirror image ones for now, because I feel bad that I haven't posted all the inchies I've gotten so far due to this issue, and once I have beaten my comp into submission I will post real pics.

So up first is Librarylover:

Then your.bestnightmare:

Then we have krafty_karasu:

Bananasandhair is up next:

Kartiana's are right here:

Last but not least R.Forslund:

They are all so incredible.
