1  Re: Doctor Who Swap round 6 gallery in The Swap Gallery by Ink_A_Dink on: June 02, 2011 05:15:29 PM
I received from FakePalindromes last week. I'm going with the story that I had to ensure I had found a safe house to post from, for fear of someone finding me and my wonderful swag and slipping in in the middle of the night. Having found the safe house, I am now ready to share the awesomeness I received from FakePalindromes. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

First up a group shot of The Goodness:

I got not one but TWO Spacey corkboards! Right after this picture was taken I hung them up right next to my bed. No more hundreds of holes in my walls!

Here's the awesome tote-bag! I'm thinking it will find a home on my car as my emergency clothes bag, simply because my car needs more Doctor Who!

Now I have always disliked summer with a passion, but this next item makes me really really dislike it. This wonderful mug, I feel bad for it. It won't used to it's full potential until It is cool enough to drink hot chocolate. Until then I will leave it on the counter and long for the cool fall days that will bring us closer together.

Finally, the item that took my extremely strong dislike for summer and turned it into pure Hatred. A Ten Suit Scarf in all it's wonder! I love scarves, especially long ones, and I love Ten, so why a Ten Suit Scarf never occurred to me is beyond reason. Lucky for me then that FakePalindromes delivered what I never could have dreamed of. And because it's so awesome I have an action shot of it.

Isn't it beautiful! Here you can see how long it is, so wondrously long! So fantastically long!

And so Ten Suit! Ahhh...The wonder! (It's been a long few weeks, I'm bit tired...And a bit crazy) The colors in real life are darker and closer to the real thing.

Can you see why I know hate summer that much more? I have to wait till fall to wear this beauty? At least until then it has a home, hanging in my room as a piece of art, which it really is.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FakePalindromes!!!!!! My delay was not because I didn't like it, but because I absolutely loved everything so freaking much I didn't want to share. I hope you like what I sent half as much as I loved what you sent!

My package from thelastkodama arrived last week, but I was away Cry. I finally got to open it yesterday and found it was well worth the wait.

She labeled each thing so I would know in what order to open everything.

1st was a long sleeve shirt with a stenciled TARDIS on it. It's great and really need more long sleeve shirts.

Detail:
2nd was very own fob watch. Well a compact mirror camouflaged as a fob watch. It's fantastic. I normally don't carry a mirror, but this one is just so great I'll have to start.

3rd an AMAZING messenger bag. It's so perfect for me. The colors are fantastic, there's lots of room, the details are superb, and the length is just right.

Detail shot:

Inside:
I love all of it! THANK YOU AGAIN!

P.S. I just had to show the little doodle she drew on the back of the card she sent.

I received from Arachnea last week, but with all the holiday stuff I haven't gotten a chance to post pictures. She claimed me for an altered book and delivered an amazing altered book that I can use as a scrapbook. It's just incredible, she tailored each page just for me. I could go on and on gushing but you want pictures so here we go:

First is the cover made to look like the TARDIS from my favorite show ever Dr. Who!

Open it up, and it's a Firefly/Serenity page!

Then BLUE (my favorite color) with buttons. I'm not sure I mentioned it but I like buttons, too.

Then a purple (my mom's favorite color) page. And it has Scrabble tiles. Again I don't think I mentioned it, but I play Scrabble with my mom and Granddad all the time.

Next a page with an awesome design, and a cool pocket. I may use it for all my movie stubs, I need a cool place to keep them.

Finally, blue butterflies! I love butterflies! And blue! More importantly, I love this whole book!

Arachnea also sent me a bunch of envelopes made from a butterfly calendar.

Thank You So Much!

I received a box full of wonderful stamps from MCook72677. I have learned that taking pictures of stamps is quite difficult, so this is the best one I got. I can't wait to start using them. There is a beautiful Angel that will be fantastic for one of the scrapbooks I make.

THANK YOU SO MUCH MCook72677!

5  My first mask since grade school- lots of pics in Halloween Costumes by Ink_A_Dink on: October 04, 2010 01:18:48 PM
So last year I was re-wearing a store bought costume. So I decided it needed a little DIY, so I made a mask. The costume was a red and black "gown", so I made the mask black with red crystals.

Here's a pic. of the whole thing. It's attached to a ribbon wrapped dowel, with some ribbons hanging down.

This is relatively accurate to color. basically it's a plastic mask, decoupaged with black paper with a slight silver sheen.

You can kind of see the sheen in this one. I tried to get some wrinkles and rough edges to get a kind of worn, leathery look.

Side detail. The other side is done in the same way.

Here are the ends of the ribbons, I put the same crystals on each side to add a little weight and extra sparkle.

I wasn't sure if it was safe to use hot glue, so I attached the dowel with tacky glue and ribbon to add support. It's not the strongest ever, but it didn't fall apart.

I'm hoping to make another one this year to go with my costume.
Comments/suggestions are super welcome.

Ok here are the promised non-mirror image pics plus missriss.

Little Splat was feeling left out, since he's usually the star of photos in the house, so he crashed the photo shoot:

Missriss's wonderful inchies, I really do like the thread one:

Kartiana's, I love the aged looking one:

Bananasandhair, I really like "off limits":

Krafty_Karasu, I am so intrigued by the wax drop:

And the front of the card, just because I love butterflies and it's so pretty:

Yup, he snuck into the pic with your.bestnightmare's inchies:

I can't choose between library.lover's butterfly or "book" inchies as my favorite:

I like R.Forslund's "self esteem" inchie a lot:

The 10th and some extras:

I've put them all in my special things box until I have a place to display them safely away from cats. I love them all and thank you for sharing with me.

Ok so my computer apparently hates me and won't let me upload the pics I took with my camera, so I used the built in camera. However the built in camera apparently takes mirror images, you learn something new everyday. So I'll put up the mirror image ones for now, because I feel bad that I haven't posted all the inchies I've gotten so far due to this issue, and once I have beaten my comp into submission I will post real pics.

So up first is Librarylover:

Then your.bestnightmare:

Then we have krafty_karasu:

Bananasandhair is up next:

Kartiana's are right here:

Last but not least R.Forslund:

They are all so incredible.
