For color theory we had to A. choose a band B. choose a pair of shoes (or cast a body part) that represented the band C. Choose a song D. Choose patterns that go with the song E. Paint it with Warm vs. Cool colors.

A. Pink Floyd

(mostly because they did that concert in Pompeii--which is in Rome (although I think they were Greek speaking people) But, I can also say the Romans were very innovative in that they invented new things, tried new things, borrowed things from other cultures (Greeks etc etc) and made it into their own. And in many ways Pink Floyd was extremely experimental and innovative etc etc etc.

C. It took me forever but finally Shine On You Crazy Diamond. It's the first track on Wish You Were Here, not the last, and I skip to about 7:34 and I'll just let the song play out until it gets too long. I think ideally it'd run all the way to the end of the track.

Yay! I'm excited.

So most of my body of work consists of self portraits with varying themes....and since I haven't posted in a while I figured I should just group a few together.

The first one is Charcoal called "Personalities"- Its basically 2 sides of me.


This second one is mixed media called "I don't find this funny"


This one is life size acrylic cut-out called "Perfect"


This is acrylic painted over blue colored magazine cutouts. "Freedom"
It's about that near unreachable perfect place of contentment.


And the last one is my most recent. "Ostrich"
My friend has a theory that every person resembles an animal...and supposedly I look like an ostrich.

So these are the two prom dresses I made....

This first one was made about 2 years ago and was made with two separate patterns.



and this is the dress I made last year. The only thing I used a pattern for was for the skirt.  The middle of it came out a bit awkward..and that's because I wanted a really low back, but that's not really very possible to have a super low back and a form fitting front... so i experienced difficulties. But oh well. Here it is.

My mom had this old shirt that she use to love, yet never wore. So, i butchered it and made it into a purse. It's not my favorite, but she likes it.::

My maw maw had some old material that she was suppose to cover a sofa with... but it never happened so I made a purse out of it.

I also used an old belt that didn't fit me anymore and it was the first time I've ever sewn on a zipper!

Okay so when i was goin through the.. omg hot topic is the best omg all black gah omg hot topic.... I bought this shirt that was suppose to be fitted but.. i was also it the stage of.. omg i can't wear anything fitted... so i got it too big.. stuid thing to do... SO, yesterday I made it fitted AND cut the sleves off and made it into a muscle shirt with stripped thingys. wee
